"Any Skins for Us?" - Inequality in LoL Champion Skins

Today’s cartoon is about the inequality of champion skins.

The quality of illustrations and character models has increased unbelievably in LoL. Some of the recently launched normal skins even exceed past legendary skins. Among those recent skins, there are a few that have become wildly popular; Beemo and the pulsefire series.

Along with the new honey and hive-themed Teemo skin, pulsefire skins are being released for Shen, Riven, and Twisted Fate. The selected champions are very popular champions so the new skins have been well-received. However, there have also been some complaints as well, mainly regarding how new skins are concentrated on a small selection of champions.

The champions who already have many skins get even more, and those who don’t have many are stuck with the same old selection. As mentioned in a cartoon before with Yorick, who has nearly no skins, Riot is a company that has to chase profit. They know well that one of the best ways to do that is to make skins for champions that are popular, and so they tend to do so. However, the users who main unpopular champions feel left out; they feel that Riot doesn’t care about those champions.

The champions with the most skins, including the basic skin, are Miss Fortune, Twisted Fate, Annie, Alistar (12), Lux, Ezreal, Ryze, Sivir, Katarina, Kog'Maw, Gragas, Blitzcrank, Warwick, Jax and Teemo (11). There are several champions that have nearly as many, but these are the champions that have skins added constantly in new themes. On the other hand, the champions with the lowest number of skins are (excluding recent champions like Kai’Sa and Zoe) Kled, Ivern, Camille, Aurelion Sol (2) and Taliyah (2+SSG Champion Skins coming soon). Illaoi and Yorick barely got out of this group with three and four, respectively.

Most probably understand why Riot sticks to popular champions, but to become a game that truly cares for the users, that’s not enough. Riot must be responsible for balancing the care they’re putting into their champions to keep their users satisfied.

‘Battlecast Aurelion Sol’, ‘Love Seeker Kled’, ‘Star Guardian Ivern’, 'Pool Party Camille'... There are many players who eagerly await the arrival of such skins.

You forget that Shen isnt such a popular champ and its been ages since his recent skin although the other skins are more or less right Aureliom sol and those being good examples.
