Before GTA6 even hits the shelves, a game more expensive than it has arrived: 'Congratulations On Your Purchase'
Developed by Minimum Viable Prestige and published by Worth it Studio, the game carries a staggering price tag of $1k (approx. ₩1.5 million). The gameplay consists entirely of the player walking down a red carpet and writing their name. It is the second most expensive software listed on Steam. The current record holder is 'Molcollabo V2,' which is listed as educational software rather than a game and sells for $1900 (approx. ₩1.7 million).
The developers provided a somewhat philosophical and absurd description on the Steam store page. They wrote, "This game is a first-person luxury experience set inside a palace. You will walk, you will see, and you will leave your name. That is all." They added, "We cannot confirm whether this experience is worth $1k. Value is something that is created and is arbitrary based on judgment. If you are considering a purchase, we respect your decision and, once again, congratulations on your purchase."
On major international communities like Reddit, the prevailing sentiment is one of skepticism, with users questioning how the game passed Valve's internal review process and what the developer's intent was in setting a price of ₩1.5 million. Some have even raised suspicions that it could be a workaround for money laundering.
While the game is currently a hot topic in online communities, Valve, the operator of Steam, has yet to issue any response.
