League of Legends Champions Korea will make its terrestrial TV debut next month, with the 2025 LCK Finals set to air live on South Korean broadcaster MBC. The best-of-series begins at 2 p.m. KST on Sunday, Sept. 28, in what MBC considers a high-visibility weekend slot typically occupied by KBO baseball. It’s the first time a full LCK match will be shown live on a terrestrial network; during the 2018 Jakarta-Palembang Asian Games, only portions of League of Legends competition aired on KBS and SBS.
LCK said the partnership reflects esports’ growing mainstream appeal and its goal of positioning the league as “premium content” for multiple generations. The organization added that a pre-finals television documentary is in production to introduce new viewers to teams, storylines and the league’s format.
First-ever terrestrial broadcast in LCK history!
Both the Finals Qualifier on Saturday, Sept. 27, and the championship series on Sept. 28 will take place at Inspire Arena in Jung-gu, Incheon. The multipurpose venue, part of a larger resort complex, is familiar to esports fans after hosting the 2024 Valorant Champions Seoul finals and this year’s LCK Roadshow T1 Home Ground. Inspire has also signed on as a sponsor beginning with the 2025 LCK Play-In.
The LCK postseason features Play-Ins and Playoffs, each using a double-elimination format. The fifth-place team from the Legend Group and the top three from the Rise Group enter the Play-In; two survivors advance to the Playoffs to face the Legend Group’s third- and fourth-place teams in Round 1. The finals will pit the winners-bracket champion against the Finals Qualifier victor. Fan activities under the LCK Fan Festa banner are planned across Sept. 27–28 alongside the matches.

LCK cites a track record that includes nine World Championship titles for Korean teams and a gold medal at the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games. The league moved to a single April-to-September season in 2025 and says it draws about 4 million daily viewers globally, with more than half watching from outside Korea. Executives from both LCK and MBC said they plan to explore additional collaborations following the finals broadcast.
