Gen.G Seeks Redemption in High-Stakes Rematch with T1 to Open LCK Round 4

Riot Games’ League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) kicks off Round 4, Week 1 on Wednesday, Aug. 6, at the LCK Arena in Gangseo-gu, Seoul. Ten teams will compete through Sunday, Aug. 10, with two matches per day.

Longstanding rivals Gen.G and T1 meet in Thursday’s second match, renewing one of the league’s most storied duels. Gen.G enters seeking redemption after its 27-game winning streak ended with a 2–1 loss to T1 on July 25 during a special roadshow event on T1’s home turf. Since then, Gen.G has bounced back with decisive victories over KT Rolster and Nongshim RedForce. T1, meanwhile, remains unbeaten in Round 3, rattling off four straight wins—including the comeback over Gen.G—and displaying inventive strategies that have kept opponents off balance.

2025 LCK Round 4, Week 1 Preview

Patch 25.15, which launched on July 30 in Korea, brings several balance adjustments to the competitive stage. Support champions Alistar and Braum have been toned down with reduced defenses, potentially opening the meta for other picks. Rek’Sai receives a minor rework—shorter Unburrow cooldown and restored Furious Bite damage—while Kled gains additional buffs that may elevate his pick rate. The new marksman Yone-ra, unlocked for play this patch, has drawn interest from solo-queue pros including T1’s Lee "Gumayusi" Min-hyeong. Fans will watch closely for her first LCK appearance this week.

Dplus KIA bottom laner Kim "Aiming" Ha-ram reclaimed the Gold King title in Round 3, Week 2, averaging 18,689 gold per game on Varus, Senna, Sivir and Jhin. It marked his fourth Gold King honor of the season. Woori Bank awards the weekly top earner with a silver coin, and the player with the most titles will earn a gold bar at the year-end LCK Awards.

Round 4 action runs Wednesday through Sunday at the LCK Arena in Seoul’s Jongno-gu district. All matches stream live on the LCK’s YouTube channel, SOOP, and Naver E-sports & Games. On-site tickets are available via the Woori Bank Won Banking app and Interpark, opening 52 hours before each match on the app and 48 hours prior on Interpark.
