The opening week of Valorant Champions Tour Pacific Stage 2 delivered on its Group of Death billing as all six teams in Alpha Group finished with identical 1–1 records, setting the stage for a tightly contested second week. Matches held July 15–20 at the Sangam SOOP Coliseum in Seoul saw seeding decided by set and round differentials, with Gen.G edging Global Esports by two rounds to lead the pack.
Gen.G began strong with a 2–0 sweep of DRX on July 16, but fell 1–2 to defending champion RRQ four days later, allowing RRQ to claim second place on a superior round difference. DRX rebounded from its loss by downing Nongshim RedForce 2–1 in a matchup that pitted former teammates against one another.

In Omega Group, T1 snapped a five-match losing streak dating back to mid-Stage 1 by defeating BOOM Esports 2–0 on July 18. The victory marked T1’s first win of Stage 2 after back-to-back overtime losses to Paper Rex, and provided a much-needed boost for a roster that stumbled following its runner-up finish at Kickoff and title run at Masters Bangkok.

Meanwhile, Global Esports emerged as the early authority on Abyss, the newly introduced map first seen at Masters Toronto. The squad posted consecutive 2–0 wins over RRQ on July 17 and Team Secret on July 19, fielding a five-agent composition of Fade, Sage, Astra, Iso and Raze that proved difficult to counter. Other Korean teams have struggled to adapt to Abyss’s sprawling layout and intricate sightlines, with coaches noting the importance of specialized agent selections and split-second rotations.

With all teams in Alpha Group level and T1 back in form, Stage 2 is poised for high-stakes matchups when play resumes. As Abyss becomes a permanent fixture in the Pacific region, analysts will be watching whether Global Esports’ strategy sets a new standard or if rivals will devise fresh approaches to the map’s unique challenges.
