T1 fans send another truck to LoL Park ahead of the team's match against Nongshim RedForce

On Aug 7, a handful of T1 fans sent another truck to LoL Park. They’ve previously sent a truck on Aug 4, when T1 faced off against Hanwha Life Esports in the 1st match of the 2022 LCK Summer split.

These handful of angry T1 fans sent the trucks in protest of T1’s coaching staff, head coach Choi “Polt” Seung-hun and Kim “Moment” Ji-hwan. These fans claim that the current coaching staff is incompetent, due to their lack of knowledge in the team’s drafts and inexperience to lead the current roster. The community known as the ‘SKT Minor Gallery’ on a website called ‘DC Inside’ have since released a statement, demanding T1’s coaching staff to be replaced by those that have won Worlds.

"Scarecrow head coach Choi Seung-hun [Polt] // Sabotaging Kim Ji-hwan [Moment] // Take responsibility and resign!

After T1 parted ways with coach Kim “Kim” Jeong-soo in 2020, rumors have surfaced that Nicholas “LS” De Cesare and Choi “Polt” Seung-hun will lead T1’s coaching staff. T1 fans weren't happy with the line-up, as controversy surrounded LS' name within the Korean community, while Polt had little to no experience within the LoL Esports ecosphere at the time. In response to such rumors, a handful of angry T1 fans sent a protest truck and funeral wreaths to T1’s headquarters in Gangnam, South Korea.

"Incompetent head coach, relegation team coach admitted lack of ability. The solution is to sign a coach that has experience winning Worlds. The seven years of glory made by SKT, fans leave from three years of incompetence."

Shortly after, T1 announced that the two coaches that led DAMWON Gaming [now known as DWG KIA] to win Worlds in 2020, Yang “Daeny” Dae-in and Lee “Zefa” Jae-min, will lead the team for the 2021 season. Alongside the announcement, Polt was announced as the General Manager of the team. However, the two coaches were kicked from T1 during the middle of the Summer split of that same year; Polt and Moment took helm of T1’s coaching staff for the 2022 season.

T1's CEO Joe Marsh, held nothing back in his comments about these fans, stating that “100 ‘fans’ wasted money on a truck. They don’t speak for the other 1M fans.”

With Polt and Moment as the core of the coaching staff, T1 had an undefeated split in the 2022 LCK Spring split. As LCK representatives, they finished second place at the 2022 Mid-Season Invitational; they now comfortably sit in second place of the regular split standings of the 2022 LCK Summer split and secured a spot in round 2 of the playoffs.
