Popular Spanish Twitch streamer Ibai “Ibai Llanos continues to dominate the streaming world after breaking the world record high for viewership during his La Velada Del Año II boxing event, surpassing a record previously held by fellow Spanish streamer TheGrefg.

La Velada Del Año II began on Saturday, Jun 25, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. ET on Ibai’s Twitch channel and immediately the event viewership spiked throughout the pre-game show and one that could challenge unbroken records.

Once viewed as an unbreakable record, TheGrefg’s 2.4 million concurrent viewership record set on January 11, 2021 was shattered by Ibai just before the start of the first fight as a new record for viewership was created.

Ibai’s stream exceeded over 2.8 million viewers during the Carola vs. Spursito fight and progressively increased as the fight went on. While viewership dipped in between matches, the viewership spiked back up for the second fight of Ari Gameplays vs Paracetamor and reached peak viewership of over 3.3 million viewers, all before the main boxing match between David Bustamante vs Mr Jagger.

Ibai has developed an incredibly successful career on Twitch as one of the most popular streamers on the platform. He is one of few streamers to eclipse the coveted 10 million follower benchmark and currently stands at 11 million followers. This rising viewership has resulted in Ibai hosting a number of unique streams such as the first La Velada del Año as well as his stream with Puerto Rican artist Bad Bunny.

Now, Ibai has set a new viewership record with the La Velada Del Año II boxing event that looks to be an unbroken record for many years to come. That 3.3 million peak could see an increase as the final boxing match of the day takes place on Ibai’s Twitch channel.
