Team Liquid has qualified for the 2021 League of Legends Championship Series Mid-Season Showdown after defeating Dignitas in its first match of week 6 of the LCS Spring Split. Team Liquid is the fifth team to qualify for the post-season, leaving only one seed left for Immortals and Evil Geniuses to fight over in the last two days of regular season play before the Mid-Season Showdown.

Team Liquid joins TSM, 100 Thieves, Dignitas and Cloud9 in post-season qualification. TSM and 100 qualified earlier today once the latter defeated Immortals. Last week, DIG qualified one day after C9 punched its ticket in week 5 of the Spring Split.

Despite five of the six teams qualified for the LCS Mid-Season Showdown already decided, no specific seeds have been locked in at this time. Despite losing to Counter Logic Gaming earlier today, Cloud9 is still in sole possession of 1st place with an 11-5 record. Behind C9, all four of TSM, DIG, TL, and 100 are all tied for 2nd place with 10-6 records.

With FlyQuest, Counter Logic Gaming, and Golden Guardians being mathematically eliminated from qualifying for the 2021 LCS Mid-Season Showdown earlier in the Spring Split, only Immortals and Evil Geniuses are fighting for the final placing in the post-season. IMT's loss against 100 Thieves earlier today brings the team's record to 7-9, whereas EG's victory over TSM brought it to 9-7.

The miracle scenario for IMT is pretty clear: IMT must defeat both TSM and Cloud9 to finish 9-9 while EG loses to TL and CLG to also finish 9-9. The five teams qualified for the post-season all have at least 10 wins, but if IMT can force a 9-9 tie with EG, IMT will be placed 6th and qualify for the LCS Mid-Season Showdown because of it's 2-0 head-to-head record against EG in the LCS Spring Split.
