[LCK Today] Outclassed and outmacro'd! DWG KIA and AF 2-0s their respective opponents.

On Jan. 17th, day 6 of the 2021 LCK Spring split took place. DWG KIA took a clean 2-0 over NS RedForce in the first match of the day, as DK proved that they were levels above their opponents and proved why they’re the world champions. In the second match of the evening, Afreeca Freecs also took a 2-0 victory over Fredit BRION, as AF proved that their macro was levels above BRION.

Game 1 of DK vs NS was all about DK’s mid laner, Heo “ShowMaker” Su. Picking Lucian into Park “Bay” Jun-byeong’s Zoe, ShowMaker was able to really pressure Bay’s Zoe right from the get go. In the first contest for Rift Herald and countering NS’ attempt to get kills in the bot lane, DK was able to come out with a massive gold lead. Afterwards, DK was able to snowball the game with Lucian standing at the forefront of DK’s forces, and led to the destruction of NS’ nexus in just 28 minutes.

Game 2 also ended in a landslide victory for DK. While there weren’t a lot of kills around the map, the CS difference in all lanes, as well as the snowball that started from ShowMaker’s solo kill on Bay was too much for NS to handle. While NS desperately tried to come back into the game, their attempts proved to be feeble in front of DK’s macro. As time went on, NS looked mentally defeated, as the team failed to land key skillshots and became food for the world champions. Game 2 ended in just under 29 minutes, and DK was able to take the quick victory over their opponents.

In the second match of the day, AF took an early lead through a solo kill in the jungle and in the mid and bot lane. While BRO tried to come back into the game through Eom “UmTi” Seong-hyeon’s Lillia, AF’s strong macro, and the Cloud Soul shut them down completely. With AF winning the contest for the Elder dragon, they took the lead, 1-0.

AF also had a great start in game 2 as well. Whenever a skirmish broke out, Son “Lehends” Si-woo was able to land his ultimates onto key members on BRO, which put his team massively ahead. The snowball rolled to the point where all three inhibitors on BRO’s base were down, and while BRO was able to get a miraculous ace over their enemies, AF was able to secure the baron buff, and AF’s lead proved to be too much to handle.
