[LCK Today] DRX stands undefeated in the LCK standings, Afreeca Freecs now in 3rd place.

On the 5th (KST), day 15 of the 2020 LCK Summer split took place at LoL Park, Seoul. With 2-0 victories for both DragonX and Afreeca Freecs over SeolHaeOne Prince and kt Rolster respectively, DRX continued their undefeated streak, while AF currently sits at a 4-2 record and at 3rd place in the LCK standings.

In game 1, DRX showed a performance that put them on another level over SP. With Chovy on Corki with Lethal Tempo, he was able to dominate the Summoner’s Rift over Mickey’s Sylas. He quickly outscaled over any other players on the Rift by having a 50 CS lead, and despite SP’s attempts at turning the tide of the game through skirmishing, it was not enough.

Game 2 was even more dominating, as DRX three-man dove top lane, which resulted in a triple kill for Chovy’s Leblanc. With Deft’s Ezreal raking in even more kills in the bot lane, DRX was able to close out the series at 22 minutes.

The second series of the day was between two teams that were in the middle of the pack, KT and AF. KT had a great start after Mystic made a mistake in the early game as Ashe. However, as the game headed towards the late game, KT was unable to stop Kiin’s Kayle. Furthermore, Smeb was unable to initiate teamfights as Ornn, as Ben’s Braum continued to block Ornn’s ultimate with his skill, Unbreakable. Despite AF’s rocky start, they were able to close out the game.

The game state of game 2 seemingly mimicked game 1, as KT also had a good start. However, when it came to teamfighting, AF’s synergy was a lot better than that of KT’s. From Taric’s ultimate, Volibear’s peel, and with Urgot and Kalista all doing their part, they were able to acquire the dragon soul. With a huge teamfight victory in front of the Baron pit, AF was able to take down Baron Nashor, and eventually, KT’s Nexus as well.
