AF Kiin: "Just like today, I hope that Fly continues to play well in our matches."

On the 5th (KST), Afreeca Freecs took on kt Rolster in the 2020 LCK Summer split. With a set score of 2-0, AF was able to take down KT in a dominating fashion. With this victory, AF is now in 3rd place in the LCK standings with a 4-2 record.

Kim "Kiin" Gi-in, the top laner for the Afreeca Freecs, joined the press room at LoL Park for a post-match interview.

Congratulations on the victory. How do you feel?

This was an important match for us, as it decided who moves up in the standings and I’m glad that we won 2-0. I hope to win in a clean fashion next game as well.

Speaking of important matches, your next opponents are DAMWON Gaming. How do you rate them currently?

They’re playing incredibly well these days, and they’re not an opponent to be underestimated. However, our team worked incredibly hard, and we do believe that we can beat them.

When people talk about the best top laners in the LCK, you and Nuguri are among the names that always pop up on the list.

Although I’m very grateful that people rate me very highly, it does not put me under any pressure.

There are many champions that are able to be flexed during draft, such as Karma, Volibear, and Sett.

Because of it, it can cause a lot of headache from the mind game aspect. However, all of us have vast champion pools, so it shouldn’t be too much of a problem.

You’re the only player that picks Urgot in the LCK. Is there a strength to the champion that you only see?

One of his strengths is that he’s very fun in solo queue. As an innate tanky champion with an incredible ultimate that executes champions, I think he’s a very good pick.

In Chovy’s POG interview after the last match, he talked about facing off against your Lethal Tempo Corki.

Lethal Tempo on Corki is great when it comes to extended trades, and I think that it’s a great pick into Sylas.

During Fly’s POG interview, he mentioned that you’re good on all the champions that you play and you have his complete trust. Is there a message you’d like to send to Fly?

Just like today, I hope that Fly continues to play well in our matches.

After the team’s abysmal end to round 2 of the Spring split, is there anything you learned?

After our loss streak in round 2 of the Spring split, the trust between our team has become frail, so we worked on rebuilding that trust. I think it’s paying off so far in the Summer split.

Lastly, a word to your fans?

We have the opportunity to contend for a spot in the Summer playoffs, so we’ll make sure to continue working hard. Thank you.
