Just ahead of the 2020 League of Legends Championship Series Summer Split, Riot Games has announced a multi-year partnership with Verizon and the LCS. Verizon will be the official 5G provider for the league, and will work alongside Riot Games to bring more to the players and fans of the LCS. Verizon is the first ever presenting sponsor for Academy Rush, and will also sponsor post game interview segments for the LCS.

The LCS is excited to announce our latest partner for Summer Split -- Verizon!

Verizon is no stranger to esports or gaming. In January, Dignitas and Verizon unveiled the Verizon 5G training facility, the first of its kind in esports. Now, Verizon is bringing the full force of its 5G ULTRA WIDEBAND NETWORK to the LCS as our official 5G, wireless network provider.

Over the next 3+ years of our partnership, we’ll explore ways to tap into Verizon’s 5G network to continue upgrading our player and fan experiences across the league. We’re also proud to have Verizon join the LCS broadcast as the first-ever presenting partner for Academy Rush and as a partner on post-match interview segments. Look out for even more collaborations with Verizon around the LCS Studios, once matches return to the arena.

Summer Split is just the beginning of our journey with Verizon, and we can’t wait to see where our partnership takes the LCS (and lol esports) in the future. Join us in welcoming our latest partner on Friday, June 12, with the Summer premiere of Academy Rush presented by Verizon!
