Team Liquid has made an off-season splash ahead of the 2020 League of Legends Championship Series Summer Split by signing Joshua "Jatt" Leesman as its Head Coach. Jatt has spent the majority of the past decade as a caster and an analyst for Riot Games' LCS broadcast.

Team Liquid has already been the talk of the off-season in moving to the contract of star AD Carry Yiliang "Doublelift" Peng to TSM, with Doublelifft citing disagreements with Team Liquid's coaching staff during the 2020 LCS Spring Split.

After winning a record four consecutive LCS championships, Team Liquid finished in 9th place in the 2020 LCS Spring Split and failed to defend its title in the post-season. While visa issues affected the team early on, specifically Jungler Mads "Broxah" Brock-Pedersen, it is clear changes needed to be made, and it looks like moving Doublelift was only the beginning of what TL is adjusting for summer.

Jatt began his career in League of Legends as the Jungler for Dignitas at the time of the scene's birth but retired to become a color caster less than a year later. In the past decade, Jatt has established himself as one of the most iconic voices in the LoL Esports scene, but also, one of its greatest analytical minds. Jatt's short hiatus from the LCS broadcast in 2018 led to him heading up the Competitive Balance team at Riot Games before returning in 2019.

Team Liquid's roster is no doubt one that can still compete for the LCS title, even in promoting Team Liquid Academy AD Carry Edward "Tactical" Ra to start full-time after a three-game debut last split. If Jatt can establish himself as the correct leader for Team Liquid, it may be just what the team needs to re-establish itself as the top team in North America.
