Four-time reigning League of Legends Championship Series champion Team Liquid will not qualify for the post-season. TL's fate was in its own hands in its final matches of the 2020 LCS Spring Split against Cloud9, but was unsuccessful in securing the eighth win that would have kept the team's hopes for Spring Playoffs alive.

It was easy to blame Team Liquid's slow start on the visa issues of Mads "Broxah" Brock-Pedersen, and even when TL members admitted that the issues expanded beyond the position of Jungler, the four-time reigning LCS champion was expected to return to form.

Team Liquid lost agency over its post-season hopes after a loss to FlyQuest to start off week 9, but the stars aligned for the team to have nearly every chance possible to scrape by into the post-season. TL's failure to qualify for the 2020 LCS Spring Playoffs marks the first time in LCS history that a reigning champion has not qualified for the next split playoffs to defend its title.
