[KeSPA Cup] Afreeca Freecs sweeps DragonX to land spot in the grand finals

Afreeca Freecs has reached the grand finals of the KeSPA Cup. The team sweeped DragonX with a clean 3-0 victory in the semi finals. An impressive result, given that Afreeca Freecs ended in the middle of the rankings at the end of both the 2019 Spring Split and Summer Split in the LCK.

Throughout the entire series, Afreeca Freecs seemed simply too slippery for DragonX to get a grip on. Jin "Mystic" Seong-jun displayed impeccable prowess in the bot lane on Varus during game one, closing the game with a 10-1 record. However, it was Afreeca Freecs' top laner Kim "Kiin" Gi-in whose play haunted DragonX the most. Dominating his lane all three games, Kiin led his team in team fights, and through clever rotations exerted pressure DragonX simply couldn't deal with.

In the grand finals Afreeca Freecs will meet SANDBOX Gaming, who defeated T1 almost equally as dominantly as Afreeca Freecs beat DragonX. The two teams will settle who goes home not only with the prestigious KeSPA title, but also the grand prize of ₩40,000,000 (approximately $30,000 USD). The grand finals start on January 5th at 3 pm KST / 7 am CET (January 4th, 10 pm PT) and can be watched live on the esports KBS YouTube channel.
