Global game developer Lightcore Games Limited announced that it released a major update on April 16 for its retro pixel idle mobile RPG, 'Song of the Wanderer: Dot Idle RPG' (hereinafter 'Song of the Wanderer'), which is currently in official service. The update introduces a new pet growth system called 'Felis Spirit.'
The centerpiece of this update is the new 'Cat House' facility. The Cat House is unlocked once players reach level 5 at the farm's temple and serves as a dedicated space for summoning and raising 'Felis Spirits,' mysterious beings born from the Essence of Moonlight.
Felis Spirits can be leveled up using dedicated items. Once they reach level 10, they can be promoted every 5 levels up to a maximum of level 30. Promotion significantly boosts stats and unlocks new passive options, allowing players to design diverse growth strategies tailored to their playstyle.
Developed Felis Spirits provide class-specific bonuses to the entire team in battle. When placed in key farm facilities like the temple, windmill, or scarecrow, they increase resource production efficiency and provide additional buffs, making them essential to both combat and life-skill content.
Players can also dismantle Felis Spirits they no longer use, recovering 70% of the materials used for their growth along with some raw stones. This reduces the burden of changing growth paths and allows for more flexible resource management.
The game features over 40 types of Felis Spirits, each with unique appearances and personalities. Players can form contracts with them via the 'Moon Summoning Circle.' All Felis Spirits can be obtained for free through farm content, allowing players to enjoy collecting and growing them without the pressure of additional spending.
In addition to Felis Spirits, various sub-content has been significantly enhanced. In the mine, players can now use various mining tools like bombs and drills—in addition to pickaxes that recover over time—to more efficiently extract rare resources from deep underground. A special feature has also been added: reaching depths of 200m or more allows players to encounter and capture the hidden pet, 'Slime.'
The equipment crafting system has also been upgraded. Players can use materials obtained from the 'Hero's Dungeon' at the forge to craft their own gear. By repeatedly crafting items, players can level up the forge, which in turn enables the creation of higher-quality and higher-grade equipment.
The farm system serves as a hub for the stable supply of key resources needed to raise Valkyries and Felis Spirits. Players can construct functional buildings or cultivate plots to secure growth materials while enjoying the fun of decorating their own adventure support base.
Furthermore, various mini-games such as 'Minesweeper,' 'Block Blast,' and 'Kitty Playground' will be held sequentially during event periods, alongside the permanent 'Draw in One Stroke' content. The content is designed to be enjoyed casually, even with short play sessions.
Meanwhile, through this update, Song of the Wanderer aims to provide users with a richer adventure and healing experience by simultaneously strengthening deep growth mechanics and accessible casual content.
