The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin promoted launch with ‘50 Elizabeths in L.A.’ event

According to a release, Netmarble held an in-person promotional event for The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin at L.A. LIVE in Los Angeles on March 14th, ahead of the game’s wider launch on March 23rd. The event, titled ‘50 Elizabeths in L.A.’, saw 50 cosplayers dressed as Elizabeth parade through the venue as part of a marketing push aimed at raising awareness of the anime open-world role-playing game (RPG) in North America.

According to the release, the concept referenced the ‘Forest of White Dreams’ scene from the original The Seven Deadly Sins series, in which multiple versions of Elizabeth appear before protagonist Meliodas. Netmarble said the event was designed to connect with existing fans of the franchise while also drawing attention from passersby unfamiliar with the IP.

Visitors were also able to take part in several on-site activities, including gameplay demos, themed photo zones, merchandise giveaways and lucky draw events. The company added that the celebration was livestreamed as part of a special broadcast titled From Britannia to L.A. Live.

The promotional event came shortly before the game’s early access release on PlayStation 5 and Steam on March 17th. Its full launch is scheduled for March 23rd, when it will also roll out on mobile platforms.

Based on Nakaba Suzuki’s manga and anime franchise, The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin is an open-world action RPG set in Britannia. According to Netmarble, the title includes tag-based combat, combination skills, team customisation and multiplayer options that allow players to explore together or take on bosses cooperatively.

The wider Seven Deadly Sins franchise remains one of the better-known anime and manga properties to receive a game adaptation, with Netmarble previously releasing The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross in 2019. Origin appears to mark a broader push into open-world design and cross-platform play, areas that continue to attract interest across the games market.
