Super Robot Wars celebrates its 35th anniversary. The latest entry, 'Super Robot Wars Y,' has announced a content expansion through a free update and an Anniversary Expansion Pack. Additionally, a remaster of '2nd Super Robot Wars Z: Hakai-hen' was unveiled.

BANDAI NAMCO held a 35th-anniversary commemorative broadcast for the Super Robot Wars series via its online Channel on the 1st. The main announcement was undoubtedly the new expansion pack for Super Robot Wars Y. BANDAI NAMCO will release the 1.4.0 free update alongside a new paid 'Anniversary Expansion Pack.

The update, arriving on August 4, adds missions to commemorate the series surpassing 20 million units sold and its 35th anniversary. A new 'BOOST' Game Mode will also be added. In this mode, EXP, CREDIT, and MXP gains are doubled, while costs for unit upgrades and pilot training are halved. The combat difficulty remains the same as Normal Mode; the mode focuses on accelerating progression rather than lowering combat difficulty. It is designed for new players just starting the game or those looking to replay it from the beginning. The pilot level cap will also increase from Lv.150 to Lv.200 with this update.

The Anniversary Expansion Pack will be released on the 5th. This pack includes 33 additional missions, 12 new attacks, 5 additional playable units, and 1 assist crew member.

Among the new attacks, 7 are combination attacks, with a particular focus on the crossover combination attacks that have been lacking in recent series entries. Highlights include the 'Final Dynamic Special' featuring Getter Robo Arc, Mazinkaiser, and Mazin Emperor G; a combination featuring Dynazenon and Red 5 from Majestic Prince; Getter Robo Arc and Jet Jaguar; L-Gaim Mk-II and Billbine; and a combination attack between Combattler V and Raideen. Combination attacks within the same series, such as those for Wing Gundam Zero, Gundam Deathscythe Hell, Gundam Heavyarms, Gundam Sandrock, and Gundam Altron, are also included.

Gundam Calibarn, the main unit from Season 2 of 'Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury'—which previously only featured units from Season 1—will appear in this expansion pack. Additionally, the trailer confirmed the appearance of Crow Brust and his unit, Li-Brasta T, from the Super Robot Wars Z series.

A remaster of '2nd Super Robot Wars Z: Hakai-hen,' originally released for the PSP, was also announced. While a 2026 release is not expected, the announcement of multi-language support suggests a high likelihood of a Korean-language version.

Furthermore, a 'Super Robot Wars 35th Anniversary Theme Song Complete Album,' featuring all tracks by the series' long-time musical contributors JAM Project, will be released in December.
