On the 9th, the court ruled against the plaintiff in the first trial of the copyright infringement lawsuit filed by NC against Kakao Games and RedLab Games. The Seoul Central District Court dismissed NC's claims of copyright infringement and unfair competition. The court's detailed reasoning is expected to be confirmed once the written judgment is released.

This legal battle began in February 2024, when NC filed a lawsuit with the Seoul Central District Court against Kakao Games and RedLab Games, seeking damages and a suspension of service for alleged copyright infringement and unfair competition.
NC had claimed that 'ROM,' a MMORPG developed by RedLab Games and published by Kakao Games, misappropriated the game concepts, content, art, user interface (UI), and presentation of its own title, 'Lineage W.'
In response to the court's decision, Kakao Games and RedLab Games stated, "We respect the court's ruling."
An NC representative said, "We will thoroughly review the written judgment and seek a further ruling from a higher court."
