Kakao Games announced on the 22nd that it has released a new developer update video for 'God Save Birmingham,' an open world zombie survival simulator currently in development by its subsidiary, OCEAN DRIVE Studio. The company also announced that a global Closed Beta Test (CBT) will begin on the 23rd.
The new developer video showcases various updates, including combat improvements made since the private alpha test, newly added survival content, and a revamped weather system.
First, character attack animations have been sped up, and responsiveness to zombies and environmental objects has been enhanced to provide a more intuitive combat experience. Additionally, new weapons such as swords and halberds have been added, along with a feature that allows players to lure zombies using sound, creating a more dynamic and challenging combat experience.
Survival elements have also been expanded: chickens have been added as livestock, allowing players to periodically collect eggs, and players can now forage for fruits and vegetables in the forest. Furthermore, the weather system has been overhauled so that conditions like fog and rain have a direct impact on survival.
The global CBT for God Save Birmingham will take place on the PC game platform Steam from June 23 to June 30 (KST). Users can apply to participate via the God Save Birmingham Steam page, and selected players will be able to experience the various improvements and new content implemented since the private alpha test.
Shin Soon-wook, PD at OCEAN DRIVE Studio, stated that he believes it is more important to build features well than to simply show off many of them, adding that the team will focus on creating a high-quality game through continuous development, testing, and refinement.
More information on the new God Save Birmingham video and how to participate in the CBT can be found on the OCEAN DRIVE Studio YouTube channel and the game's Steam page.
