NCSoft announced today (the 26th) that it has unveiled the teaser visual and world-building for 'Astrae Oratio' (hereinafter 'ASORA'), a new subculture RPG developed by Dynamis One and set to be published by NCSoft, via its official social media channels.
The newly released key visual depicts the 'Chief'—the player's avatar—gazing at the stars alongside Hiwakishi Akari Ai, who is dressed in a kimono. The image creates a unique atmosphere by combining the night sky viewed from a hill on the outskirts of the city with the keyword 'dream,' which has been mentioned since the initial teaser, and a phrase incorporating the Latin word 'Astrae,' meaning 'star.'

Along with the key visual, the game's lore regarding 'magic' was introduced. According to the description, magic in the world of 'ASORA' is a person's dream and a wish that cannot be fulfilled, spoken toward the stars. The lore notes that the Second and Fifth Ages of mages came to an end due to Babylon, the King of Mages who built a tower to become a god, and Torino, a philosopher who sought to break away from mystery. It also foretells that the Tokyo Tower will be completed at the end of the Fifth Age. Given that the game is set in a fictional 1989, just before the completion of the Tokyo Tower and the World Expo, it appears the story will revolve around the conclusion of the Fifth Age.
Additionally, illustrations of Hiwakishi Akari Ai in her kimono and the Chief transformed into a cat were released. While Hiwakishi Akari Ai typically wears the suit seen in the initial reveal while working as a civil servant, she wears a kimono when acting as a mage. The Chief, the player's avatar, was initially introduced as an ordinary civil servant in a suit, with their face hidden. However, the new illustration of the Chief as a cat suggests they are under some form of curse, providing a hint as to how an ordinary protagonist becomes connected to the mages.
Further information about 'ASORA' will be continuously updated via the official website and social media channels.
