In the 2026 League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) Spring Split match held at LoL Park in Jonggak on the 30th, Gen.G Esports defeated Kiwoom DRX 2-1. While Kiwoom DRX put up a valiant fight, the series ultimately showcased the superior individual skill and 'weight class' of Gen.G's top side.

Gen.G dominated from the first set. Their mid and bot lanes pulled ahead during the laning phase, and the bot lane's balance completely collapsed following intervention from 'Canyon' Kim Geon-bu's Jarvan IV. Leveraging their lead, Gen.G monopolized objectives and snowballed the game. 'Chovy' Jeong Ji-hoon's Annie quickly racked up six kills, and Gen.G took the first set with a 10,000-gold lead.

Kiwoom DRX started the second set on a high note, with 'Willer' Kim Jeong-hyeon's Wukong securing consecutive kills in the mid and bot lanes. The Wukong grew to carry-level strength, and despite a brief response from Gen.G's bot duo, the Wukong remained a constant threat. Turning their attention to the top lane, Kiwoom DRX repeatedly shut down 'Kiin' Kim Gi-in's Jayce and picked up additional kills in skirmishes around the top side.

Gen.G, however, was not a team to fold easily. Trailing by over 4,000 gold, they executed a brilliant team fight to secure a massive win and take Baron. Although Kiwoom DRX maintained the lead, they were pushed to the brink when 'Chovy's' Akali picked off their bot duo. Yet, around the 29-minute mark, a team fight broke out before Akali could join; Kiwoom DRX successfully focused down 'Ruler' Park Jae-hyuk's Jhin, secured a decisive victory, and took the second set.

In the deciding third set, 'Kiin's' K'Sante dominated 'Rich's' Shen in the laning phase, effectively neutralizing Kiwoom DRX's strategy centered around the Shen. Without even securing a kill, the gold gap between the top laners widened to nearly 1,400. To Kiwoom DRX, the fed K'Sante was an immovable mountain. Even when they managed to catch out an opponent to initiate a fight, they lost consecutive skirmishes due to the sheer presence of the K'Sante, who refused to go down.

Around the 25-minute mark, Kiwoom DRX finally took down the troublesome K'Sante. They claimed the Dragon as a reward and finished off 'Ruler's' Jhin, who was caught in an overextended position. However, Gen.G responded by picking off 'Andil' Moon Gwan-bin's Nautilus and securing Baron, further widening the gap. Kiwoom DRX tried to hold on, banking on the late-game carry potential of 'Ucal' Son Woo-hyeon's Viktor, but it was an uphill battle with both nexus turrets already exposed. Ultimately, Gen.G secured the third set victory through a backdoor play by 'Chovy'.
