Following the conclusion of the Google Play ASL Season 21 Round of 16 Group D matches at Freec Up Studio in Samseong-dong, Seoul, on the 21st, the quarterfinal draw was held. The resulting matchups are Park Sang-hyun vs. Jo Il-jang, Shin Sang-moon vs. Yoon Soo-chul, Lee Jae-dong vs. Lee Jae-ho, and Jang Yoon-chul vs. Lee Young-ho.

In the preceding Round of 16, Park Sang-hyun and Yoon Soo-chul advanced from Group A; Jang Yoon-chul and Jo Il-jang from Group B; Lee Jae-dong and Lee Young-ho from Group C; and Shin Sang-moon and Lee Jae-ho from Group D, which concluded today.
The quarterfinal draw took place immediately after the Group D matches. First, the group winners were drawn in the order of Park Sang-hyun, Shin Sang-moon, Lee Jae-dong, and Jang Yoon-chul. Subsequently, their opponents were determined: Park Sang-hyun will face Jo Il-jang, Shin Sang-moon will face Yoon Soo-chul, Lee Jae-dong will face Lee Jae-ho, and Jang Yoon-chul will face Lee Young-ho.
Yoon Soo-chul and Shin Sang-moon, who have been causing a stir this season as part of the so-called 'Tier 4 rebellion,' will meet in the quarterfinals, ensuring one of them will advance to the semifinals and contend for a seed. Meanwhile, the Jang Yoon-chul vs. Lee Young-ho matchup is expected to be a premier Protoss vs. Terran clash that many fans have been anticipating.
