Netmarble has unveiled a major update for its action RPG Solo Leveling: ARISE, announcing a crossover with the acclaimed manga and anime Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End. The collaboration introduces new SSR Hunters, crossover-exclusive content, and a slate of in-game events designed to reward players.

Based on the popular webtoon Solo Leveling, ARISE allows players to step into the role of Sung Jinwoo as he grows from the weakest hunter to one of unimaginable power. This latest update expands the game’s universe with characters from Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, a fantasy tale centered on an elf mage’s journey through a world reshaped after the fall of the Demon King.

A Magical Crossover Brings New Hunters and Rewards

The collaboration introduces three new SSR Hunters from the Frieren series: Frieren, Fern, and Stark. Frieren, a water-type Mage, wields powerful area spells and an ultimate skill known as “Basic Magic Attack (Zoltraak) – Ultimate.” Fern, a fire-type Mage, uses “Demon-killing Magic (Zoltraak) – Mighty” to release an immense mana blast. Stark joins the lineup as a fire-type Tank, using “Lightning Strike: Annihilation” to deliver devastating ground attacks. Each hunter features a signature weapon—Frieren’s Staff, Fern’s Staff, and Stark’s Axe—alongside a new light-element weapon for Sung Jinwoo, the “Sword of the Hero.”

To mark the event, Netmarble has launched the “Travel Companions! Check-In Gift Event,” allowing players to earn special rewards such as the Travel Companions! SSR Hunter Selection Ticket by logging in. Participants can also take on the event dungeon to battle “Aura the Guillotine,” a powerful collaboration boss.

The update further adds the “Monarch of Steel [Valtair]” as a new boss in the Workshop of Brilliant Light mode, with a global difficulty reduction to improve accessibility. Additional content, including a new Instance Dungeon boss and “The Overseer’s Forbidden Library,” will go live on November 6. Solo Leveling: ARISE is available for mobile and PC, offering fast-paced combat, skill customization, and cinematic storytelling inspired by the hit webtoon’s world of hunters and shadows.
