NEXUS signs MOU with Mustaverse to bring Web3 card game Aurayale to CROSS

NEXUS has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Taiwanese game studio Mustaverse to bring the Web3 trading card game (TCG) Aurayale onto its CROSS blockchain platform.

An MOU is a non-binding agreement that sets out how two parties intend to work together. Under the deal, the companies will integrate Aurayale into the CROSS ecosystem and look to grow the platform's Web3 gaming audience in global markets.

NEXUS is a KOSDAQ-listed South Korean company that develops CROSS, a blockchain platform that hands studios ready-made tools — such as wallets, a marketplace and token management — so they can add Web3 features to their games without building the technology themselves. Web3 refers to blockchain-based services in which players can own and trade digital assets directly. NEXUS is led by Henry Chang, CEO of NEXUS and a former chief executive of game company Wemade.

Aurayale is a blockchain-based card game built around collectible cards issued as NFTs (non-fungible tokens, a way of recording ownership of a digital item on a blockchain), strategic card battles, and player-to-player trading. As with a traditional TCG, players collect cards and build decks to compete, but the game also lets them trade and upgrade the assets they earn in an attempt to grow their value.

According to a release, Aurayale ranked fourth out of around 1,000 projects at the 2025 Bybit Unleash Hackathon — an event where developers build projects against the clock — and placed first among roughly 400 projects at the ETHGlobal Taipei Hackathon. According to the release, the game has also appeared at industry events including PG Connects Finland, Taipei Blockchain Week and Start Sphere, and has formed partnerships with Web3 firms such as Immutable, Kaia and Web3 X Accelerator.

Chang said: "Aurayale is a Web3 card game equipped with both solid gameplay and proven competitiveness on the global stage." He added: "By adding excellent games of various genres to the CROSS ecosystem, we will provide users with more content to enjoy and developers with a broader global stage."

NEXUS and the wider CROSS ecosystem

The agreement is the latest in a run of additions to CROSS. NEXUS has recently onboarded titles including Redlab Games' role-playing game ROM: Golden Age and strategy title Throne of Chaos, and has signed MOUs with developers and partners such as Web3 security firm CertiK.

The company is also reshaping the platform itself. After acquiring South Korean app marketplace ONE Store, NEXUS plans to rename the CROSS mainnet to OneChain and rebrand its native token from CROSS (CROSS)toONE(CROSS) to ONE ( ONE).
