Riot Games announced its update plans for the second season of the PC MOBA 'League of Legends (LoL)' today (the 15th).
The second season of LoL in 2026, 'Chaos,' uses vivid colors to depict the narrative of Vayne as she gradually succumbs to corruption while hunting demons. During Act 1, skins reflecting the season's theme will be added, and an assassin champion designed for the mid lane is scheduled for release in Act 2.
New systems are also being introduced to foster a better gaming environment. A feature will be phased in that allows teams to vote for an immediate surrender if malicious behavior, such as intentional feeding, is detected. When this feature is triggered, the offending player will face additional LP deductions, and penalties will also be applied to members of their party, strengthening the overall disciplinary measures.
To offer players more ways to enjoy the game, 'WASD' movement controls will be officially introduced following a testing phase. Starting with the new season, these controls will be available in ranked games, and players will be able to customize skill-casting methods for each champion individually.
The special 'Arena' mode will receive several updates, including ▲a new map featuring 'bombs,' ▲'Augment levels' that enhance existing 'Augments,' and ▲'VIP' champions that alter game rules. Additionally, a 3-player team mode and a 'Swift Arena' mode, scheduled for later in the season, will be released sequentially.
Players can experience the new Act 1 content on the Public Beta Environment (PBE) starting today (the 15th), with the official live server release set for late April. Further details regarding the LoL 2026 Season 2 update can be found on the official Riot Games website.
