Nexon has implemented a large-scale reassignment of personnel within the development team for its action RPG 'The First Berserker: Khazan,' based on the 'Dungeon & Fighter' IP. This move comes approximately one year after the game's official launch on March 28, 2025.

Upon its release, 'Khazan' gained significant attention, peaking at over 30,000 concurrent players on Steam. It continues to be recognized for its gameplay, maintaining a 'Very Positive' rating (85% recommended) from users. In particular, it is credited with contributing to Nexon's expansion into the console market by building a solid fandom despite the hardcore action genre.

NeoPle Creative Director (CD) Lee Jun-ho, who recently thanked users for the game's first anniversary, emphasized his commitment to the future, stating, "The past year has been invaluable thanks to the users who joined Khazan's tale of revenge. Khazan's story does not end here; the challenges and adventures we have prepared will continue, and we ask for your continued support."

However, one year after launch, user metrics have stabilized at a lower level than the initial peak, and the game has faced difficulties in service expansion due to delays in its launch in China, one of its key markets.

In the Chinese market, the game drew interest from local gamers during Tencent's 'SPARK 2025' showcase last year, but it remains in the pre-registration phase as the issuance of a publishing license (ISBN) and the launch schedule for the local ESD, WeGame, have yet to be finalized.

Due to this personnel reassignment, some adjustments to future service plans, including previously scheduled DLC, appear inevitable.

A Nexon representative stated, "As the roadmap for the large-scale Khazan project enters its final stages, we decided to separate the team into those who will complete the remaining missions and those who will be reassigned to other projects that require a concentration of human resources."
