Nexon (co-CEOs Kang Dae-hyun and Kim Jung-wook) announced on the 28th that the official title for the new MMORPG 'Project T,' currently under development by Gray Games (CEO Choi Byung-chun), has been confirmed as 'Overgeared.' The company also unveiled the game's Brand Identity (BI) and a teaser site.
'Overgeared' is a major MMORPG based on the globally popular IP of the same name, which has proven its success abroad by recording over 1.3 billion cumulative views in Korea, ranking first in popularity on the Asian fantasy web novel platform Wuxiaworld, and reaching fourth in overall sales on the Japanese digital manga and novel platform Piccoma. The game combines equipment-based progression with the depth of a traditional MMORPG, focusing on the fun of character growth and large-scale competition.
A teaser video symbolizing 'Equipment,' the core content of 'Overgeared,' was also released via the teaser site. Set against a backdrop reminiscent of virtual reality, the video features a display of numerous swords appearing in a blue light, implicitly capturing the game's identity where equipment equals power.
Nexon has launched an official YouTube Channel and a KakaoTalk Channel. Starting with this title announcement, the company plans to sequentially release game information, including development updates and key content, through these official channels.
Meanwhile, 'Overgeared' is being developed by Gray Games, a studio composed of developers with extensive experience in MMORPG development and live services, and will be published by Nexon for a domestic and global release later this year.
More information about 'Overgeared' can be found on the official teaser site and YouTube Channel.
