Global interactive entertainment brand HoYoverse announced today that the Version 2.8 update for its urban fantasy ARPG 'Zenless Zone Zero,' titled 'Sunset of New Eridu' and marking the finale of Season 2, will launch on May 6.

This version concludes Season 2 with a storyline centered on the pursuit of the mysterious target 'Ramiel.' It also introduces new S-rank Agents 'Promia' and 'Starlight Billy,' alongside various system improvements and event content.

'Promia,' a judge of the Black Branch of Krampus, is an S-rank Ice Anomaly Agent skilled at accumulating 'Cryo Erosion,' converting it into 'Frost Penalty,' and consuming it to inflict the 'Blossom' effect on enemies. When using her Enhanced Special Attack, she enters the 'Shackle Amnesty' state, which automatically triggers an Extreme Evasion upon taking damage. If there are other Anomaly or Support Agents in the party, she increases the 'Blossom' damage for all party members.

The S-rank Physical Attack Agent 'Starlight Billy' is a new, upgraded form completed after taking a six-month salary advance. He deals massive Physical burst damage to enemies using his combat motorcycle and signature move, 'Knight's Flying Kick.' Additionally, the Ether Support Agent 'Lucia' and the Fire Attack Agent 'Opi & Will-o'-Wisp' will return in limited-time banners.

Notably, a new Wind element and 'Turbulence' combat mechanism have been added. When a special enemy enters a Wind Anomaly state, other elemental anomalies will trigger 'Turbulence' instead of 'Chaos,' dealing area-of-effect anomaly damage, which is expected to diversify party compositions.

Players can also explore 'Butopia' in 'Marcel Butopia' to rescue trapped Bangboo, earning the 'Ghostboo' that fires lasers during combat. Various events, including 'Extreme Judgment Training,' will also be held.

In addition, a new costume for Hoshimi Miyabi, 'When Flowers Bloom in the Silver Garden,' will be added, along with system optimizations such as the introduction of a 'Polychrome Guide' feature and improvements to resource management.

Furthermore, the Zenless Zone Zero original soundtrack vinyl, featuring classic game music and character themes, will be available for pre-order on the official Laced Records website starting on the 29th.

Meanwhile, Zenless Zone Zero has been confirmed for release on Steam and supports cross-platform data compatibility across PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, iOS, and Android.
