According to a release, Netmarble announced a crossover update between its collectible role-playing game (RPG) Seven Knights Re:BIRTH and anime franchise Solo Leveling on March 19th. The update added four characters from Solo Leveling to the game: Legendary heroes [Shadow Monarch] Sung Jinwoo and [Dancer] Cha Hae-In, alongside Rare heroes [Loyal Helper] Yoo Jinho and [Haeundae Response Team] Lee Joohee.
According to the release, the collaboration also introduced a limited-time set of in-game events. A check-in event awarded Sung Jinwoo, whilst players were able to obtain Cha Hae-In through the story event ‘Hunters and Adventurers’, which ran until April 2nd. Separate Point Mission and Special Mission events also offered rewards including Solo Leveling Summon Vouchers and a Brilliant Skill Enhancement Stone.
In addition, the crossover added the pet Igris and themed equipment based on the anime series. Beyond the collaboration, Netmarble said the update introduced a new ‘Sudden Raid’ feature. According to the release, these encounters could be triggered after clearing standard raids, with one of three new boss monsters appearing at random. Players were also able to choose the set and main stats of reward equipment earned through the mode.
Seven Knights Re:BIRTH is the latest entry in Netmarble’s long-running Seven Knights franchise. The company said the wider IP has surpassed 100m cumulative downloads, with the new title retaining core elements of the original game while incorporating updated gameplay systems.
The collaboration is another example of Netmarble continuing to lean on major entertainment IP in its games portfolio. The publisher has increasingly tied its titles to established franchises, and Solo Leveling is already closely linked to the company through Solo Leveling: ARISE, Netmarble’s action RPG based on the same property.
Originally created as a web novel by Chugong, Solo Leveling later expanded into a webtoon adaptation illustrated by DUBU of REDICE STUDIO and adapted by h-goon, before becoming an anime. Its growing global profile has made it an increasingly common partner for game collaborations.
More details on the update were made available through the game’s official website and forum, according to the release.
