BDO KR Update: How to get the Trina Musket and be a Sniper

On June 22nd (KST), a new weapon specialized for PvP was added to Black Desert Online KR. The new weapon, called the Trina Musket, uses a special bullet designed for the musket, the Trina Lead Bullet. Trina Musket is especially efficient in Node Wars and Conquest Wars. The Trina Musket can poke enemies and defend friendly fences and gates. However, the Musket cannot be used while horse-riding.

You can equip the Trina Musket as a mainhand weapon, and Trina Lead Bullet as your offhand. You can shoot twice before reloading, and can attack targets on or under castle walls. Accuracy and AP increases as Enhancement level goes up, and Enhancement requires Black Stone(Weapon). The maximum Enhancement level is V(PEN).

You will need to complete associated quests in order to get the Trina Musket. You will receive one Trina Musket and Trina Lead Bullet upon completing all quests, and will be able to craft the items through a new Processing Skill called “Manufacturing”.

Talk to Dalian in Treant village to start the associated quests. Complete “Latest Gunpowder Weapon” and “Fatal Metal” in that order. You can start the quest with a character over level 50.

The first quest will ask you to gather some materials that will help the village, in exchange for Knowledge regarding the Musket. You will need to gather 10 Fir Timbers, 10 Melted Iron Shards, and 10 Lightweight Plumes. Fir Timbers can be manually gathered from Fir Trees, or you can let your Workers gather them for you by sending them to Treant Forest, Phoniel’s Cabin, or Mansha Forest.

Melted Iron Shards can be obtained by Heating Iron Ores. Iron Ores can be manually gathered from different sources including Sandstone, Bloodstone, and Feldspar. Lastly, Lightweight Plumes can be obtained by Thinning Kuku Bird Feathers or Ferrica Feathers. The closest Kuku Bird habitat from Treant village is located on the South of Calpheon, the hill near Oberen Farm.

Give the materials to Dalian to complete the first quest and receive the Trina Musket. The next quest will ask you to bring 10 Melted Lead Shards, 10 Powder of Flame, and 10 Rough Stones.

Melted Lead Shards can be obtained by Heating Lead Ores, which can be gathered from Lead and Diorite. Lead Ores can also be gathered from the Mining Nodes at Glish Swamp, Quint Hill, and Primal Giants Post. Powder of Flame can be gathered from Copper, Tin, and Mythril, or from the Nodes at Imp Cave, Northern Heidel Quarry, and Forest of Seclusion. Rough Stones can only be gathered manually. Bring all the materials to Dalian to complete the quest and obtain the Knowledge on the Trina Lead Bullet.

▲ Dalian is at the center of Treant village. Complete her quests to obtain the Knowledge on the Musket and the Bullet.
▲ Collect Kuku Bird Feathers by killing the Kuku birds at Oberen Farm to produce Lightweight Plumes
▲ Alternatively, you can buy them from other players through the Marketplace

The Musket will be a mainhand weapon, and the Bullet will be an offhand weapon. Click LMB to load the Musket, and you will automatically be switching to Sniper mode. Maximum shots are limited to 2.

Auto aim will be enabled once you enter sniper mode. The target that is closest to the direction you are looking at will be locked on to, and you can fire your Musket to attack your target. The gunshot will deal Bleed damage as well as regular damage. The target will receive 30 Bleed damage every 3 seconds for a total of 17 seconds, and the debuff will not overlap. (Duration is reset every time the target is hit by the Musket.)

Press the Spacebar during Sniper mode to kneel down or stand up. The maximum distance for shooting is 20m while you are standing up, but it increases to 30m when you are kneeling down. Kneel down when you want to attack the enemies far from you.

▲ The Bullet will deal damage over time
▲ Press the Spacebar to kneel down and increase the range of your gunshot

One thing you should keep in mind is that your field of view drastically decreases and is limited to the direction you are looking at, and you cannot change your line of sight without exiting sniper mode. The Musket is not that useful when you are in an open field where enemies could be coming from anywhere. In contrast, the Musket is very effective in protecting castles or when enemies are coming from a single direction.

You should also note that Guard skills will block the Bullet, canceling the regular and the Bleed damage from the Musket. For example, Shield Guard can block the Bullet and the target will receive no damage.

The Enhancement process is the same as with other weapons. You can Enhance the Musket up to +15 with Black Stones(Weapon), and then up to V(+20) with Concentrated Magical Black Stones(Weapon). The Enhancement level will go down if the Enhancement fails when the Enhancement level is above II (DUO, +17).

Even through the Trina Lead Bullet is considered an offhand weapon, it is actually an item with duration. The Bullet cannot be enhanced nor repaired, so you will need to Manufacture a new one when the durability (100) is used up. The durability will decrease only when the Bullet successfully hits the target.

You can craft Trina Muskets and Trina Lead Bullets through Manufacturing, the newly added Processing Skill. One Trina Musket requires 5 Steel, 1 Fir Timber, 1 Pure Iron Crystal, and 1 Fine Hard Hide. One Trina Lead Bullet requires 5 Lead Ingots, 10 Powder of Flame, 5 Rough Stones, and 1 Fire Horn.

Fire Horn is a newly added material obtainable from butchering or tanning certain monsters. Processing: Skilled Knowledge is required to produce Pure Iron Crystals, so make sure you have the associated quest completed before you start Manufacturing.

▲ The Trina Musket can be Enhanced up to V(PEN, +20)
▲ You need new Bullets when the durability reaches 0
▲ Additional Muskets and Bullets are obtainable through Manufacturing.
