The Diablo 'Lord of Hatred' expansion launches on Tuesday, April 28, at 8:00 AM KST. This expansion introduces new classes and regions, alongside a major overhaul of progression systems, including skill trees and items.
Changes are also coming to the endgame. Through 'War Plans,' players can connect and customize various activities to earn greater rewards, and take on a new type of content called 'Echoing Hatred.' Additionally, the map overlay feature will be available

The expansion introduces two new classes: the Spiritborn and the Paladin. Unlike the Paladin, which was available for early access through pre-orders, the Spiritborn makes its debut in Diablo IV. The Spiritborn brings a unique combat style to Sanctuary, using dark magic to command hellspawn. In contrast to the darkness-wielding Spiritborn, the Paladin harnesses the power of light through sword and shield.
Players can also explore the new region of 'Nahantu.' This land holds dangers never before seen in Sanctuary and can be visited after completing the Lord of Hatred campaign. Kurast, the capital of Nahantu, is designed to serve as an endgame hub.
A skill tree overhaul is also being implemented. Both new and existing classes can design and utilize builds with the new skill trees. The basic structure has been reborn with the addition and reorganization of skills. Existing passive nodes have been removed; passives now only affect the active skills being used, while previous passives and key passives have been moved to revamped Legendary Aspects and new systems. Additionally, players will receive up to 83 skill points.

New systems, including a Loot Filter and the Horadric Cube, are also being introduced. The Loot Filter allows players to set specific conditions and rules. By configuring up to 10 criteria—such as power, rarity, and affixes—players can highlight or hide items as needed. A sharing feature via import/export is also provided for players.
The Horadric Cube is encountered during the Lord of Hatred campaign. Once unlocked and activated, it can be used in Kurast. The Horadric Cube allows for adding and removing affixes, rerolling affix values, upgrading items, and crafting charms. Notably, there are reports of secret recipes beyond those publicly revealed.

Endgame content has also been bolstered. Players can now connect major content and design paths to maximize rewards. The new 'Echoing Hatred' content serves as a top-tier challenge, accessible after collecting Echo Traces. Furthermore, the addition of the 'Runeword' system, which allows players to add attributes and abilities using runes and charms, enables more precise and powerful build customization.
Other changes in the upcoming expansion include an increase in the level cap to 70 and an expansion of Torment levels from 4 to 12. The highly anticipated map overlay feature has also been added. Pre-loading for Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred begins on Friday, April 24, at 8:00 AM KST.
