Gen.G fell to Hanwha Life Esports in a 0-2 sweep, bringing their record to 3-3. Given that Gen.G finished with a 29-1 record last year, a three-loss tally this early feels quite unfamiliar. After the match, head coach Yoo Sang-wook assessed the performance as "a listless defeat; we set the wrong direction," while 'Canyon' remarked, "The game flow didn't feel natural."
Below is the post-match interview with Gen.G head coach Yoo Sang-wook and 'Canyon' Kim Geon-bu.

Q. What is your overall assessment of today's match?
Head Coach Yoo Sang-wook= It's disappointing to have lost so listlessly. I think we set the wrong direction.
'Canyon'= It's a shame we lacked flexibility as a team. We will prepare better for the next one.
Q. Given how well you performed last year, three losses already feels strange.
Head Coach Yoo Sang-wook= We played too rigidly. We were too focused on objectives, and our communication was lacking. Also, we need to provide feedback on our team compositions, which were at a disadvantage in teamfights even when we held the initiative.
'Canyon'= While playing, the flow didn't feel natural. We need to keep talking to each other in-game to keep things connected, but that hasn't been working well.
Q. Game 1 was a complete defeat. What happened?
Head Coach Yoo Sang-wook= There was a lot we could have done, but we fell for the opponent's traps and couldn't execute our own game plan.
Q. How did you prepare for the match against Hanwha Life?
Head Coach Yoo Sang-wook= We prioritized gaining the initiative. However, once we secured it, we failed to play organically.
Q. You've been banning Karma frequently. Why is that?
Head Coach Yoo Sang-wook= There are several reasons. Sometimes our prepared pick-ban strategy makes a first pick unfavorable, and we have actually left it open in the past as well.
Q. Any final words?
Head Coach Yoo Sang-wook= Our performance was disappointing, and our preparation was lacking as well. We will make sure to show a different side of ourselves in the next match.
'Canyon'= I also feel my personal performance was lacking, so I will work hard to improve.
