KRAFTON, Inc. (CEO Kim Chang-han) has successfully concluded the 'PUBG Global Series (PGS) Circuit 1,' a global esports tournament for PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS (hereinafter PUBG).
PGS Circuit 1 was the first global esports tournament to feature the new circuit structure introduced this year, where an overall champion is determined through three series events. Virtus.pro secured the overall title after a fierce battle, thanks to their consistent performance. Previously, Petrichor Road won Series 1, and Natus Vincere won Series 2.
PGS Circuit 1 surpassed 12.66 million total views, with a peak concurrent viewership of 332,886 and a total watch time of 5,879,880 hours. Additionally, the 'Player of the Day' event, where fans vote for the best player, saw over 73,000 cumulative votes.
The newly implemented third-person perspective (TPP) broadcasts, region-specific coverage, and player- and fan-friendly content helped drive the success of the first circuit by enhancing the viewing experience for global fans.
A KRAFTON official stated, "PGS Circuit 1 demonstrated the excitement of PUBG esports as the three series flowed together, garnering a positive response from global fans. Building on the achievements of this first circuit, we will continue to provide a differentiated esports experience."
