Korea e-Sports Association Donates High-End Gaming Equipment to Schools Through On-Campus Esports Program

The Korea e-Sports Association (KeSPA) announced on Thursday the 18th that it held an equipment donation ceremony for participating schools in its “On-campus eSports Tournament,” aimed at helping schools establish a stronger on-campus esports environment.

The donation initiative was arranged to support the development of in-school esports infrastructure and to expand students’ career exploration opportunities and club activities. In particular, it targeted schools that have struggled to run related programs due to a lack of infrastructure. KeSPA said it selected recipient schools after conducting a comprehensive review of each school’s plan for how the donated equipment would be used.

Three schools were ultimately chosen to receive donated equipment: Jaeneung Middle School (Dong-gu, Incheon), Mokpo Younghwa Middle School (Mokpo, South Jeolla Province), and Yeosu Technical High School (Yeosu, South Jeolla Province).

Jaeneung Middle School plans to use the donated equipment to launch esports-related creative experiential activities and self-directed clubs, and to pursue initiatives to broaden participation—such as hosting esports tournaments within the school and in collaboration with the local community. Mokpo Younghwa Middle School will use the equipment in both its regular curriculum and after-school and club classes, with the goal of operating an in-school league and running always-on competitions. Yeosu Technical High School said it will use the equipment to support competitive activities for its esports department’s student athletes, and to promote a wide range of school- and community-based esports programming, including hosting in-school tournaments and city-level competitions, as well as recruiting student athletes by game title—plans that contributed to its final selection.

The equipment was assembled as high-spec, professional-grade hardware optimized for esports, sponsored by Samsung Electronics, SIDIZ, Logitech, and MSI.

Meanwhile, the “On-campus eSports Tournament” is hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, organized by KeSPA, and sponsored by the Korea Creative Content Agency, Riot Games, Nexon Korea, Samsung Electronics, SIDIZ, Logitech, GOALSTUDIO, MSI, and SK Telecom.
