Riot Games Reveals New Details for Riftbound: Spiritforged and Next Three Game Sets

Players can expect new Champion Legends, alternate art editions, and fresh mechanics when Riftbound: Spiritforged launches in English on Feb. 13, 2026.

Riot Games has unveiled new information about Riftbound: Spiritforged, the second expansion for its physical trading card game. The set will debut in China on Dec. 12, 2025, before releasing in English across North America, Latin America, EMEA, and Oceania next February.

Twelve Champion Legends — Rek’Sai, Draven, Irelia, Rumble, Lucian, Sivir, Azir, Ezreal, Ornn, Renata Glasc, Fiora, and Jax — headline the expansion. The set introduces three mechanics: Equipment, Gold, and Repeat. Equipment cards can be attached to units and remain in play even if the unit is defeated. Gold tokens, tied to champions like Draven and Renata, offer flexible power generation. Repeat spells allow players to pay a card’s cost a second time to amplify its effect.

Riot said the set blends the steelwork themes of Spiritforged with the mysticism of Ionia’s Spirit Blossom universe, influencing both card design and champion identities. The expansion also expands collectability with Spirit Blossom–themed alternate art, 30 Overnumbered cards, and 12 Champion Units added to the Overnumbered series.

Regional Qualifiers and Future Sets

At PAX Unplugged, Riot shared additional previews, including Signature variants for select Overnumbered cards and new cross-set synergies between Spiritforged and Origins. Game director Dave Guskin said the team drew on community feedback from the launch of Origins when shaping the new expansion.

The studio also confirmed the next three Riftbound sets coming in 2026: Unleashed in May, followed by Vendettas in Q3, and Radiance later in the year. Unleashed will introduce new Champion Legends such as Vi, Rengar, and Master Yi. Vendettas will explore long-running rivalries with champions including Akali, Mel, and Ambessa.

Riot additionally announced a slate of Regional Qualifiers for competitive players. Houston will host the first English Regional Qualifier from Dec. 5–7, with events in Bologna, Italy, from Feb. 20–22 and Las Vegas from Feb. 27–March 1. Riot plans to run 12 Regional Qualifiers throughout 2026, with more information to come.

“We learned a tremendous amount from how players engaged with Origins,” Guskin said in a statement. “Spiritforged builds on that foundation with new Champion Legends, new mechanics, and even greater collectability. We can’t wait to see what players create next.”
