Half-Life: Alyx covers the events between Half-Life 1 and Half-Life 2, and will release March next year

No, this is not an out of season April Fools joke. Valve is actually making a full-fledged Half-Life game. The company teased their new title Half-Life: Alyx last Tuesday. Today, twelve years after the last Half-Life content was published by them, Valve revealed what's in store next: a pre-sequel, all for VR.

Alyx, one of the main characters in Half-Life 2 and its accompanying episodes, is the main character of the game. Together with her father she is part of a resistance against the aliens who have overtaken their home. As Valve mentioned in their tease, Half-Life: Alyx will be available only on VR. Though Steam does have its own VR set, the game will also run on HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, and Windows Mixed Reality.

You can already pre-purchase the new Half-Life installment for €44,99 on Steam. The release date for Half-Life Alyx is set at March 2020 at the moment.
