SSG Ambition: "We will prove ourselves with the results"

For the second day of Week 2 Day 1 of 2017 LCK Spring Split, Samsung Galaxy defeated MVP with a 2-0 record and placed third on the race to the top.

SSG's jungler, Chanyong "Ambition" Kang was subbed in for Set 2 and proved that he was definitely a force to be reckoned with. Ambition assured the fans that SSG will prove themselves to be a strong team with the results.

Here is our interview with him.

Congratulations on your win today. How do you feel right now?

I was under a lot of pressure because of the competition for the starting spot. After losing the two games that I played in, I actually felt more relieved. When I realized that it was okay to lose, I felt much better and started to play better too.

SSG is now a part of the "rock-paper-scissors meta" between MVP and Afreeca Freecs. How do you feel about this?

The power ranks among the teams are already decided somewhat. Teams that deserve to win will win, and teams that deserve to place higher will eventually be placed higher. It was mainly our fault that we lost against Afreeca Freecs.

The head coach mentioned how he allowed the team to stay loose until the match against Afreeca Freecs. Do you think it might played a part in your loss against them?

It wasn't just that, but it was also because of our hubris. Despite knowing that there are no teams in the LCK that can be beaten easily, we got careless.

The head coach also said that he couldn't praise you enough because you've been practicing hard lately. Is it because of the competition for the starting spot?

I practice more when I figure out what I need to work on. When I do feel that I'm good enough, I tend to watch games rather than practice. Lately, I felt that I needed to practice more, so I've been doing just that.

How will you spend your Lunar New Year break?

I think I'll practice just enough to stay in form, because I want to rest more than anything else.

How do you feel about the new member, Minseung "Haru" Kang?

I'm not so sure yet. I can see that he is like a rookie because he has that ambition to prove himself to the world. So he shows a large gap between his ups and downs because of that.

Thank you for your time. Do you have any other comments?

I would like to thank the fans who are worried about me and my team. However, please worry no more, because good teams will eventually show their true strength, and we will prove ourselves with the results at the end of the season. Also, to all of my fans celebrating the Lunar New Year, Happy Holidays. :)
