SKT Faker: "All teams that reached the MSI are teams that are the best in their respective leagues. I’ll beware of all of them."

SK Telecom T1 left Korea to take part in the 2019 Mid Season Invitational. On his team going to the MSI, Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok expressed how he felt. “Since LPL took all ‘World’s best’ titles last year, this year is really important. I’ll return with the championship.”

It seemed that he was quite satisfied with the preparation. “Our performance during practice was very positive. If we do our best there, I think we could bring home good results,” said Faker, and explained that individual prowess is more important than the meta shifts.

Faker was also looking forward to seeing the fans of Vietnam. “I heard that there are many SKT fans in Vietnam. I’m looking forward to an airport full of fans when we get there. (Laughs) In all seriousness, the fans’ cheering and support is always a great source of motivation.”

He expressed a tad of confidence about playing against Rookie, he said, “MSI is an extension to the spring season. I think the current form is important. If I’m able to maintain my form, I’m confident.” When asked about Caps, who has the nickname ‘baby Faker’, he answered, “It seems that there are several ‘Faker’s playing in this MSI. (Laughs) I’m happy to perform against the best mid laners around the world.”

Faker picked iG and G2 as teams that he’s looking out for the most. “China and Europe are being rated highly. Since G2 is a team that attempts many different unique strategies, we’ll need to prepare well for that.”, but also mentioned the importance of being cautious as well. “All teams that reached the MSI are teams that are the best in their respective leagues. I’ll beware of all of them.”
