Late Tuesday night, a Korean member of the Blizzard Entertainment scene leaked some information via datamine related to the next hero slated to enter the Heroes of the Storm universe.
Lord Anduin Llane Wrynn, the High King of the Alliance, King of Stormwind, son of Varian Wrynn, nephew of Jaina Proudmoore and nephew of Magni Bronzebeard, among the other numerous titles he posses, is rumored to be entering the nexus.
Few individuals in the World of Warcraft franchise are more involved in the storyline than Anduin, even at the ripe old age of 18. He has fought Garrosh Hellscream and Sylvannas and learned the ways of priesthood by the Prophet Velen and the art of dagger throwing from Valeera Sanguinar.
His role in the universe was deemed so important that World of Warcraft historian, Nobbel87, dedicated a 20-minute video to his backstory.
Traditionally, when the Heroes of the Storm team announce a hero is slated to enter the nexus, the game's community is able to quickly theory-craft what their role and abilities may be.
With Anduin, that is thrown out the door.
Could he use his knowledge of the Holy Light in the Support role to assist his allies on the battlefield? What about his skills with his late father's sword named Shalamayne which appears to be the one he is wielding in the leaked image? Speaking of Varian, a multi-class hero, could Anduin join his father in that role?
The beauty of Anduin’s lengthy and developed backstory is that the Heroes of the Storm team can flex their creative muscles when creating his kit.
Time will tell if the rumored information is true or what the team will do with the fan-favorite but what is confirmed is that the Heroes’ community is chomping at the bit for more details.
