HLE Thal: “This year, I’m not going to repeat my mistakes I made in SKT T1.”

HLE experienced quite a hard blow during the 2018 KeSPA Cup. After seeing their performance during the KeSPA Cup, fans were skeptical about them winning their first Spring matchup against KT. However, they made an upset by defeating KT 2:1. Among the players, their new top laner, Thal displayed outstanding performance throughout the series. Although they underperformed in game 1, HLE managed to bounce back and secure games 2 and 3.

According to Thal, he and his teammates seemed confident despite their first game lost against KT. “Although we lost game 1, we were confident that we could win both games 2 and 3.”

He also shared his thoughts on why he chose HLE as his new team. “Going into the preseason, head coach OnAir visited me. That’s why I decided to go with him without hesitation… This split, I want to pay back the trust he had on me.”

Thal was a hot prospect during his amateur days. He performed in NA, China, and EU before choosing SKT as his new destination. Unfortunately, he failed to perform up to his high expectations in SKT. “This year, I’m not going to repeat my mistakes I made in SKT T1. I’m thinking of at least finishing on 4th place for this Spring.” said Thal.

With Hanwha Life Esports on a fresh start for this Spring, the LCK sophomore, Thal seemed determined to prove more with his new teammates. Let’s see whether Thal and his team can fulfill their long-cherished desire of making it to the LCK playoffs.
