SKT Pirean on Faker: "The way he prepares for matches and how he lives his daily life as a professional gamer... everything about him is of help to me."

The second series of the 28th day of the '2018 LCK Summer Split', featured a clash between SKT T1 and Hanwha Life Esports. For the series, Pirean played in place of Faker, and he decorated his second play in the LCK with a 2-0 win.

The following is an interview with SKT Pirean.

Tell us how you feel about your victory.

Our entire team practiced late into the night for this win. I'm extremely happy.

How were you notified that you were to start in today's series?

While I was scrimming yesterday, head coach Kkoma came up to me and said, "you'll start in tomorrow's match." He didn't tell me anything else that's worth noting.

How did you feel when you heard the news?

I'm a player that often gets nervous. But when I heard the news, I was more excited than nervous.

Can you briefly tell us about your playstyle?

My playstyle is about scaling at a stable rate in the early game, to affect the team as a whole through roams and teamfights in the late game. Instead of playing to win my lane opponent, I focus on the late game.

In game 2, HLE completely subbed-out their entire starting roster. What is your opinion on that matter?

I was a bit thrown off, I didn't expect them to make such a move. But I had complete faith in my teammates and played with ease.

If you are to rate your own performance, what did you do well, and what did you do badly today?

In game 1, I'm a bit regretful about my ultimate usage. But I think I did well when I killed an enemy champion when a Baron attempt was going on. I'm also a bit regretful about a mistake that I made when our team was pushing botlane. Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with my performance today, but since I still have a long way to go, I won't be content with my current performance. I'll do my best to improve further.

Today's victory was your very first in the LCK. I'm curious as to what will come from you in the future.

During my last game against MVP, we could've definitely won. That match was very regretful for me, but at the same time, I learned a lot from it. I'm very happy that I was able to win today. And as happy as I am for my first victory, I'll do my best to continue to win.

Is there anything that you're learning from Faker?

Everything. This doesn't just account for in-game related things. The way he prepares for matches and how he lives his daily life as a professional gamer... everything about him is of help to me.

Any last words?

I'll do my best so that SKT T1 can qualify for the Summer playoffs and Worlds. Please watch over us.
