OGN APEX D2: CONBOX T6 Gamsu & RuNAWAY Runner

How does it feel to have won your first match?

Going into the match, my heart was half anxiety, half hype. I was desperate for victory, as this would be my first Overwatch match on air since leaving League of Legends behind.

Did you expect the clean 3-0 sweep over Mighty Storm?

Mighty Storm was reported to be far weaker than their sister team, Mighty AOD, which we had already defeated in the final offline qualifier on our road to APEX. I was hesitant to buy into such complacency, but all six of us did clearly outclass our counterparts today.

You played a lot of Winston and Reinhardt today. Are you proficient on any other tanks?

I actually played D.VA the most during Season 1. My extensive Winston and Reinhardt practice only began after she was nerfed. I used to think Reinhardt was extremely boring, but now I find him to be the most enjoyable hero in the game.

This was your first time playing in the Sangam e-Stadium. Were you nervous?

That in itself did not bother me, as I have plenty of stage experience. I did try too much today to make big plays, however, which negatively affected my overall performance. From my next match onwards, I will focus more on fulfilling my duties for the team.

Your next opponents are Lunatic-Hai and EnVyUs. How do you expect those matches to go?

Our strength as a team is comparable to theirs.

Former teammate Dayun "Spirit" Lee visited the stadium today to cheer for you.

It was a rather spontaneous visit. We joked around a bit before the game to ease my nerves.

You were a toplaner in League of Legends. Did that influence your decision to play tanks in Overwatch?

I always feel most comfortable on tanks regardless of the game I'm playing. It's been like that for a long time.

Any last words?

I've switched to Overwatch. Please continue supporting me. I promise to make my fans proud.

How do you feel after sweeping REUNITED 3-0?

Our team has received a lot of attention since knocking LuxuryWatch Red out of APEX qualifiers. As today's series was the first APEX match to feature a foreign team, the amount of eyes on us was huge. I feel very happy and fortunate to have defeated REUNITED.

Did you expect the 3-0?

Not at all - I was thinking more along the lines of a 3-1. Today I tried to be an in-game emotional leader of sorts, making sure my young teammates were well motivated and encouraged; I guess my efforts paid off. We do tend to perform better in LANs. [laughs]

Haksal played out of his mind today.

Haksal has long been renowned for his prowess on Genji, and our team has immense trust in his abilities. He already had an insane Genji back when he played on his 60Hz monitor; since switching over to the tournament-standard 144Hz, he has reached new heights. Genji has no limits in the hands of mechanically godlike players.

Thoughts on the gap between foreign and Korean teams?

Before facing them today, I was awed and intimidated by their fantastic aim. But it turned out that foreign teams were overreliant on their aim. It felt as if they were neglecting the value of coordinated play - something Korean teams excel at.

None of the teams in your group are pushovers. How are you planning to prepare?

LuxuryWatch Blue will want to take revenge for their sister team, and KONGDOO Panthera is considered a powerhouse by many. We do have almost a month off until our next match, and will take the time to prepare as well as we can.

As a full-time streamer, how did it feel to play on such a big stage?

Blissful. A childhood dream of mine was realized today. I will admit that my palms were sweaty, though. [laughs] My teammates consider me the heart of the team, so I tried to play it cool as to keep everyone relaxed.

Any last words?

Huge thanks to my ever-supportive family, and also to my fans: I'm sorry for cutting down on streaming, but I really need that time to prepare for this tournament with my team. Thanks for being so understanding.

Our performance today should have shut all of my haters up, so there's that, too.
