Korean game technology aims the global market

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister Jong-hwan Doh) and the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA·Director Young-jun Kim) will operate a Korea facility in Game Developers Conference (GDC 2018) which will be held at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, the United States for three days starting July 21st to support Korean game developers advancing into overseas markets.

 

‘GDC 2018’is the world largest game conference where 27,000 game developers and related industry experts from around the world participate each year to share information and ideas on the future of gaming related new technologies and products.

 

At Korea Pavilion operated by KOCCA, including ▲NEORAMA, ▲Dragonfly GF Co., Ltd., ▲VRotein Inc., ▲bHaptics Inc., 12 Korean game developers will be participated to display various technologies and products related to games and to conduct export consultation for buyers around the world.

 


◆ Present contents and services using rising topics of global game industry, ‘VR.’

 

This year, six companies will continue to challenge on the game market's strong issue of VR technology.

NEORAMA will introduce VR boarding attraction, , using the intellectual property rights of , and DRAGONFLY will introduce FPS game, using the IP of the online game called available multi-play up to 4 players. VRotein will unveil its integrated B2B platform, which is specialized to offline services using VR appliances or in VR room, and .

As well, with a casual VR rhythm puzzle game, , about the adventures of character ‘Cubian’ and a fused action defense game, , enable to play roles as a dynamic fighter and strategist using a wide field of view from VR Controller or PC Screen, IKINA Games and T POT Studio also target overseas markets.

bHaptics aims to captivate attractions from people in the global game industry with its VR wearable package, , a game that can be played with real packages. is a wearable device which works with contents of VR, augmented reality, and the Mixed Reality which provides variety of vibration to users for the purpose of giving tactile experience. The company will also release content using VR wearable devices such as , based on the 1:1 competition, and , a horror zombie shooting game.

 

 

◆Korea game developers, with outstanding technology and differentiated ideas, make inroads into the world market.

 

Korea`s top mobile game will also tap the doors of the global market via ‘GDC 2018.’ AN Games , a real time simulation mobile game with a background of the universe, and JANDISOFT’s , a mobile MMORPG (Massive Multi-user Online Role Playing Game) consolidates with the story of fight between Demons and Human at the end of the century using its own HTML5 based game engine, Jandi engine, will also be displayed.

TritonSoft will display mobile RPG games and with the medieval fantasy world setting and , a puzzle game using IP of the popular social game ‘Everystown’. Trance Studio will introduce a cross-structure action game called that supports a real-time multi-player and cross-platform between Android and iOS.

Game contents that combine promising technologies such as augmented reality, artificial intelligence and big data are also expected to draw keen attention from people in the industry. Snowpixel will reveal a mobile augmented reality game with deep-running based imaging technologies . Playing games at a specific GPS point will implement on the screen in 3-D that a group of robots that looks similar to the car in that location and those can be collected, fostered, fought, and played, attracting high interest.

Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute will display . This platform is an automation technology that will analyze user data generated from online and mobile game service and recommend an idealized operation scenario for the game service.

Hyun-hoon Cho, director of Culture Technology at KOCCA, said, “Domestic game-related businesses have high quality of not only contents but also production technology compared to the world market”. and “We will give our full support to Korean companies to have strong competitiveness in the rapidly evolving global game market.”
