Mercy nerf and World of Warcraft-themed goodies now live in Overwatch

On Jan 30th, new Hero balance updates and World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth pre-purchase goodies were added to Overwatch PC, PS4, and XBOX.

The biggest part of today’s update is a nerf on Junkrat’s Concussion Mine and Mercy’s Valkyrie. Mercy will not get an additional Resurrect from Valkyrie anymore, and Valkyrie will no longer make Resurrect instant. Also, the movement speed bonus on Guardian Angel when Valkyrie is on has decreased by 50% and Valkyrie will last 15 seconds instead of 20 seconds.

It has been a while since Valkyrie, Mercy’s Ultimate, became the most important skill in every game; it was at the point where dealing with the enemy Mercy was the key to victory. Chances are high that this meta will shift after today’s Mercy nerfs.

As for Junkrat's Concussion Mine, it will now deal less damage to enemies that are farther away from the center of the explosion. Junkrat will now have to be more accurate when using Concussion Mine in order to deal the same amount of damage as before.

▲ Junkrat’s Concussion Mine will now require more precise aim.

Along with the balance updates, goodies from the World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth Digital Deluxe pre-purchase have been added. The goodies include Alliance/Horde flag emotes, Anduin and Jaina sprays, Sylvanas and Saurfang sprays, Torbjörn’s Horde/Alliance voice lines, and new Player Icons.

Battle for Azeroth Digital Deluxe will include mounts and pets for World of Warcraft, Hearthstone backs, StarCraft2 sprays, and Heroes of the Storm mounts.
