Your favorite team skin at your service - Overwatch League plans to introduce League Tokens

The new currency called League Token will be introduced for players to purchase a team uniform skin of your favorite Overwatch League team.

On December 5th, Nate Nanzer, the League commissioner, posted a video introducing the newly implemented Overwatch League Token on the Overwatch League official website.

Nate said that the team uniform system that was already introduced at the Overwatch World Cup will be applied the same way in the League as well, and all uniforms of the 12 teams that are participating in the first season will be updated in the game at the start of the League. The uniforms will be available for all 26 heroes in the game.

According to Nate, the Overwatch League team uniform skin follows the same mechanism with other traditional sports goods, with the purchases of these skins being used as financial support for the team. Players can represent their favorite team by wearing the uniform skin in the game.

The purchase is made with the newly implemented currency called League Tokens. The tokens can only be used to purchase the Overwatch League-related content in the game. It is said that the tokens will become an indicator of each team’s popularity and players’ taste in the skin.

For the first month following the update of League Tokens, all players who play Overwatch on any platform will be given free League Tokens for purchasing one League team uniform.
