Faster Leveling up to 61: Level 56 to 60 characters will get more EXP from combat

One major change that took place with yesterday’s update in Black Desert Online KR was the reduced soft cap for leveling up. Characters from Level 56 to Level 60 will now get more EXP from combat.

Players have tested the amount of EXP they get after the update, and have concluded that they get 50% to 70% more EXP. For example, level 59 players used to get about 0.6% exp in Savage Rift and now they get 0.9% to 1% exp with Savage Rift. Leveling up via grinding has become much faster now and the overall grinding speed has increased recently. Reaching Level 61 has become much easier.

Although confirmed by many players, the increased amount of exp in percentage is an observed average rather than an absolute value. Also, there are many variables like exp boost hours, buffs, and competition. The value is not 100% accurate but will give you a general idea of how much more exp you get after the update.

The amount of exp you get from Training Manuals (afk leveling; not available in NA/EU yet) is not affected by this update. You get 0.1% exp at level 60 with Training Manuals, both before and after the update.

After the update, a Level 57 Warrior (211 Awakening AP) grinded in Cadry for 30 minutes with a total of 348% exp boost buffs (200% from daily achievement, 50% from exp scrolls, 30% from Value Pack, 25% from pets, 20% from Cold Dark Beer, 8% from Milk Tea, and 15% from Reaper-EXP Elixir.) and got about 4% exp. This is about 40% more exp compared to before.

= KR Players’ comments on the reduced soft cap/faster leveling

I can notice the difference right away. It feels like I’m going from 58 to 59 when I’m actually going from 59 to 60.

Leveling up got much faster than before, although not insanely faster. I’m satisfied with this change.

I got about 0.65% exp in Savage Rift before with a level 59 character, and now I get about 0.9% exp.

I grinded for an hour without Golden Bell buff, and it looks like I get about 50% more exp compared to before.

I agree that you get 1.5 to 1.7 times more exp than before.

    Loving the new changes recently. Any more news or videos about the recent Absolute skills? I'm interested to see them in action.

      Hi, sorry for getting to you late! The only differences between regular skills and the Absolute skills are damage, max targets, and critical hit chance. The animation is exactly the same, so there aren't many videos that show the Absolute skills :(

      2 characters get the Absolute skills in KR each week, so hopefully 2 more characters will get them this week. We'll let everyone know via translated patch notes&other posts as soon as possible. Thank you!

    Hi, you mentioned 25% with pets but you can only get max 15% combat exp with pets.

      Also, the warrior at cadry you mentioned, that seems kind of slow for his ap, is that in a specific rotation and was he grinding solo or in a party?

      Hi, in KR we can have 5 pets out at once, so 5% exp from each pet *5 = 25%.

      About the rotation, the Warrior went from the pool in the north to the altar in the middle and was grinding solo. He doesn't usually grind in Cadry and not used to the spot, so that could be the reason he seems a bit slow for his AP :(

      I play KR too, you can only get max 3% per pet so that would be 15% at 5 pets out.

      Would you tell me what pets you are using? Afaik pet exp buffs used to be random, but now it's fixed to 5%.

      Yea, that's pretty low, when I make 4%/hr at 59 via Bashims during the weekday with just costume,vp.

      Yea I have t4 dogs and the combat xp max is 3% because its not a main stat, its one of the extra stats so max is 3%, is there maybe a chance you can post a screenshot of your pet having 5%?

      @BDOBloo

      Hi, you can find the +25% combat exp on the right, under the "Skill List" section. All pet skills that are not the main stats and that are related to exp (combat, gathering, hunting, karma, etc.) are fixed to +5%. You can also find the tooltip that says Combat EXP +5% in the screenshot above.

      @Vu_Tran

      Thanks for the comment!

      The soft cap for skill points was reduced and you will get back the skill points you spent on Awakening basic attacks (will now be in 5 tiers&will be learned automatically as you level up) after last week's update, but there is no change with skill points other than that. So unfortunately, there won't be any bonus skill points :( Also, KR players who have about 1500/1700/2000 max skill points are saying that they don't see any reduced soft cap for skill points. Hope this info helps :) Thank you!

    Nice guide, but I decided to power level my BDO account. BDO power leveling is almost as buying the milk, quick and easy. One thing to bear in mind though, is that you will want to know where to shop. There are differences between the regular stationery shops in real life and the same rule applies to online traders. So if you are looking for proffesional and safe power leveling services then be sure to drop by https://mmoauctions.com/black-desert-online/power-leveling. I mention this one for a particular reason, because many popular sellers sell there, amd this guarantees you best prices, safety and proffesional care. The site works like an ebay to give you a better idea, so just have a look if you want to power lvl your BDO account. Power leveling is highly regarded ever since it came out as a thing and this is likely to not change any time soon.
