Kuro Games has revealed the first details for Wuthering Waves Version 3.8, "Lilies in a Dying Dream," the next major update for its free-to-play open-world action RPG. According to a release, the update launches on November 12th after a November 6th reveal in Guangzhou.
Version 3.8 continues the main story with Chapter IV Act V, "A Bouquet for Tomorrow," and adds Tactical Hologram: Calamity Effigy, a new Tactical Hologram challenge. The release says the update also begins the world and narrative setting for Version 4.0, giving players an early look at the next chapter. Inven Global previously covered the Version 3.8 special broadcast on the same day.
New Resonator Lily and Hiyuki outfit
New Resonator Lily joins the roster in Version 3.8 alongside the new weapon Lullaby, the release says. The update will also introduce Hiyuki's deluxe outfit Lune Noire and her accessory Flaming Sakura.
Events and login rewards
Version 3.8 brings leisure events Second Coming of Solaris: Unwritten Dreams, Lahai-Roi Blocks: Turnabout and Lollo Campaign: Groundwork, plus the combat event Dreamfield Odyssey. Players can also join Gifts of Bygone Dreams, a seven-day login event and Whither the Wind, a limited-time login event.
QoL on PC and consoles
Alongside the new content, Version 3.8 redesigns Rover's Resonance Conversion page with a streamlined interface and automatic switching to the equipped Echo set for the matching Resonance Attribute after conversion. Rover can equip Echo sets individually for each Resonance Attribute.
A new Material Locator button in the Guidebook's Material Collection page and the Resonator Ascension Planner will help players teleport to unlocked challenges that drop needed materials, or start those challenges immediately. When claiming rewards after a material collection challenge, players can enable Blitz Mode to restart the challenge without reloading. Resonator animations have also been polished for turning in place, movement transitions and combat hit reactions.
On PC, new launcher options will let players choose Full Resources or Basic Resources and an upgraded Resource Cleanup feature will help free storage. The release says these are rolling out gradually as a limited test. On supported consoles, players will be able to select Performance or Quality under Graphics Quality; that setting is currently unavailable on PS5 and Xbox Series S. On PS5 Pro, players can enable PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) for image resolution up to 4K.
Featured Convenes
Featured Resonator Convenes Phase I lists Bloom of Yesterday's Dreamsoil, When the Runes Glitter and Wanderer Knows No Far and Near. Phase II lists Voices on Azure Feathers, Blessings From Dewy Winds and Thousand Futures Mirrored in Snow.
Featured Weapon Convenes Phase I lists Lullaby, Solsworn Ciphers and Emerald Sentence. Phase II lists Azure Oath, Firstlight's Herald and Frostburn. Version 3.8 will also feature Starpath Reverbs II and Tideforge Reverbs II, where players can pick a 5-Star Resonator or 5-Star Weapon as the Featured Convene target and change that selection at any time, the release says.
