Nexon's new MMORPG 'TEMPPAL: OVERGEARED' held its online showcase 'Over World', revealing the game's release date and a variety of new information.
The broadcast took place on November 5, announcing the November 26 release date alongside key content and an update roadmap. Producer Choi Byung-cheon and Director Yoon Soon-jun from developer Gray Games appeared to introduce the gear progression system, combat content, cross-server interaction and competition systems, and service plans, using actual gameplay footage.
Gear-Centric Growth, Combat Varying by Class Overgeared, Overclock, God Hand, 4 Weapon Types, and More
The game's core progression system is Overgeared, which enhances individual equipment slot levels to boost character stats. Stats for a specific gear slot increase with its enhancement level, and reaching the enhancement cap allows players to breakthrough to raise the maximum level and boost the stats of equipped gear. In this case, stats increase on a percentage basis.
Depending on the enhancement and breakthrough levels, additional stats sealed within equipment are also unlocked. The system is designed to extract even greater power from equipment after obtaining good gear. Pavranium, the key enhancement material, can be obtained by salvaging unused gear or from failed enhancements, and it is also used in equipment crafting and weapon modification.
Overgeared is not merely a system for recycling discarded equipment, but a design intended to give players the feeling that their gear grows alongside them.

The results of gear progression carry over into the Overclock system. Progression elements such as Overgeared enhancements and breakthroughs, gear grade and enhancement level, alchemy, and appraisal are reflected in the Core Score, unlocking Overclock once a certain score threshold is reached.
Filling the gauge with normal attacks and critical hits triggers additional combat effects, which can be utilized to focus damage in boss battles and siege warfare. The tier and effects of Overclock vary according to the Core Score. However, changing equipment can lower the score and re-lock unlocked effects, making it important to manage the overall build level.

The combat system combines class-specific skills across four weapon lines: Staff, Greatsword, Bow, and Bible. Staff wielders command magic of various elements freely, where tactical choice and focus are vital. Greatswords dominate the battlefield, enduring attacks while breaking enemy formations. Bow users deliver heavy firepower through powerful attacks and backdashes. Bibles provide a balance of healing and crowd control.
Each weapon line possesses unique skills and roles, but even when using the same weapon type, combat styles differ depending on the chosen class. For example, within the Greatsword line, the Blood Warrior utilizes bleeding and HP leech to sustain continuous combat. The Crusher specializes in controlling enemy movement through pulls and stuns, offering expanded combat strategies.

Players can also directly utilize the 'God Hand' used by Grid in the original work. God Hand Memories are categorized into three types—Offensive, Defensive, and Auxiliary—and players can equip one of each type. When equipped, they physically manifest during combat upon activation, allowing players to visually track their actions.
Offensive types trigger on attack, Defensive types trigger when taking damage, and Auxiliary types trigger when using skills. Depending on the type, different effects are activated, such as bonus damage on hit, shield generation upon taking damage, or MP recovery on skill use. Additionally, Memory combinations can be saved as presets to suit different situations such as grinding or PvP.

A weapon modification system is also provided, allowing players to customize weapon appearance and performance according to personal preference and combat style. Visual elements like blades, handles, and keyrings can be customized, and even the same weapon can be modified in different directions—such as maximizing peak damage and critical power for single heavy blows, or boosting accuracy and status effect efficacy.
Reflecting the blacksmith lore from the original work, Signature Equipment is also present. Achieving a Great Success during equipment crafting awards Signature Equipment engraved with the creator's name and artisan grade. This gear offers a safe enhancement benefit that is 2 tiers higher than standard equipment.
Furthermore, through the Overgeared Core amplification effect, Core Scores can be further increased, aiding in unlocking higher Overclock tiers. Higher gear grades and artisan levels yield greater score bonuses, and the boosted Core Score can be checked immediately in the equipment info menu.
The Core Score rises through gear progression elements like slot level, enhancement, and alchemy; when combined with the amplification from Signature Equipment, it leads to stronger core effects and higher Overclock tiers. Signature Equipment bridges the gap to reach the final Overclock tiers that are difficult to attain through standard gear alone.

Diverse Cooperative and Competitive Content The Dimension System Removing Server Boundaries

A variety of content is also prepared where players cooperate in battle to earn rewards based on contribution. A prominent example is the field elite monsters known as Corrupted Beings, which can be defeated solo or alongside nearby players, earning rewards upon reaching a certain contribution threshold.
In the large-scale cooperative content War of Humans and Demons, players across the entire server join forces to hold off waves of monsters pouring out from the Hell Rift, ultimately confronting the Thought Form of Baal. The developers stated that to offer richer cooperative content at launch, Baal was introduced as a Thought Form, with the true Baal from the original lore set to appear in future live service updates.
The Hell Gao raid on Cokro Island can be attempted solo, but building up purification points in a party makes clearing it far more efficient. Forming parties naturally with surrounding players is the recommended approach.

Overgeared Coins are an in-game currency earned through active play. They can be obtained via various routes, including Corrupted Beings, War of Humans and Demons, the Hell Gao raid, hidden quests, and Dimension content. Even without monopolizing specific content, players can accumulate coins through steady play, allowing anyone at any time to aim for high-tier equipment.
Overgeared Coins can be used in a dedicated shop to purchase progression items or attempt to acquire higher-tier gear. Players can challenge tiers sequentially to target top equipment, with a chance to obtain Unique-grade gear. This system relies on coins earned directly in-game rather than cash purchases.
In the early to mid-game, pets will serve as the primary sink for coins. Flying, ground, and companion pets—as well as pet growth materials and pet jewels—can all be acquired with coins. Flying pets in particular provide EXP bonuses, boosting early progression. As progression reaches the mid-game, Dimension gameplay takes center stage, expanding the utility of coins to acquire Dimension relics and cards for a competitive edge.

Through the Dimension system, players from different servers can meet to cooperate or compete. Each server acts as a single Dimension, and once the Dimension League begins, dimensions serve as the unit of competition. Individual contributions directly translate to the overall performance of their server.
From launch, all players will connect and meet across different dimensions. The game begins without active seasons at launch; after reaching a certain progression point, Dimension travel unlocks. During this initial phase, contribution points do not accumulate, so dimensions will not compete with one another.
Once players progress to a certain point, they can visit other dimensions while remaining affiliated with their home server to form parties or participate in combat. Server migration via relocation is also possible. Inter-dimensional travel incurs costs based on distance, setting different travel burdens for near and far dimensions.
Players can cross server boundaries to build alliances with players from other dimensions or form new factions. Considering inter-dimensional travel costs and power dynamics across servers enables strategic gameplay when choosing destination dimensions and coalition partners.

The Dimension League, focused on inter-server competition, will roll out in phases. Cross-server interaction begins immediately after official launch, followed by a Tutorial Season where players accumulate personal contribution points to earn titles based on rankings. Once the world matures sufficiently, the full Dimension League will open.
Starting with the regular season, server rankings will be determined by combining the contribution points of affiliated players. Servers will be split into High, Mid, and Low divisions based on performance to ensure balanced competition. Rankings are not permanent, giving servers new targets to chase each season. Newly opened servers will operate in a protected group for a set period, joining the competition only after achieving sufficient progression.
Based on personal contribution points, titles ranging from Duke to Baron will be awarded, and tax revenues accumulated during the season will be distributed to titleholders and contributing players. Certain titles award exclusive mount skins, while Marquis titles and above grant active skills that apply buffs to party members.

Business Model of TEMPPAL: OVERGEARED Monetization Kept Optional

Details regarding the monetization model for TEMPPAL: OVERGEARED were also unveiled during the showcase. Producer Choi Byung-cheon promised that the game will not demand excessive spending that hinders normal enjoyment, nor will it devalue items through excessive direct-purchase sales.
Classes represent a primary sales item, though progression is not structured around simply pulling top-tier classes. Emphasis was also placed on distinct class characteristics and mechanics. The main summon system consists of two categories: Classes and God Hands. Rather than simple stat variances, each feature unique skills and playstyles. God Hand Memories across Offensive, Defensive, and Auxiliary types are provided as summonable options. All items can be earned through in-game play as well as summons.
The developers plan not to sell the majority of convenience features. Features like Smart Party—which quickly matches players with allies—as well as Schedule Mode, which automates daily missions, timed dungeons, and designated hunting spots according to a preset timetable, will be provided to all players free of charge.
Producer Choi Byung-cheon stated, "We wanted the game's baseline to be that inconvenience shouldn't be solved with money. The most critical factor in designing our monetization model was ensuring that anyone, regardless of whether they spend money, can enjoy core content and progress."
The dev team described the revealed monetization structure as items designed within boundaries that preserve the value of gameplay. Main commodities include Class summons, God Hand summons, and additional progression slots. All three can be acquired via in-game play or purchased if desired.
Relics slotted into additional progression slots serve as equipment that heightens combat satisfaction and fun. Relics can likewise be earned through play or purchased as needed. Materials that enrich gear progression, such as Pavranium and equipment alchemy catalysts, will also be sold.

Post-Launch Roadmap Official Launch on November 26, Followed by a 6-Month Roadmap

TEMPPAL: OVERGEARED will officially launch at midnight on November 26. At launch, two regions will operate as separate server regions, with dimension connections and competition taking place within each region. After players gain sufficient experience, content where players from both regions interact will also be provided.
Major content such as Vampire City, War of Humans and Demons, and Baal will be introduced sequentially. Within two months post-launch, the Hell Gao raid and daily dungeons will be added.
At the three-month mark, the first major update will introduce new regions including Titan alongside new episodes, new classes ranging from Epic to Legendary across each weapon line, the upper levels of the Yatan Temple, an expansion of Vampire City, and siege warfare.
Between months four and six, the team plans to introduce new bosses such as the Reinhardt Siege Golem Invasion and Marie Rose, alongside a new weapon line and content that allows players to intervene in siege battles of other dimensions.
Gray Games Producer Choi Byung-cheon stated, "TEMPPAL: OVERGEARED is an MMORPG where players do not merely become stronger through gear, but forge their own stories by cooperating and competing with others. We look forward to players beginning their new journeys in the world of TEMPPAL: OVERGEARED on November 26."
