Nexon's new MMORPG 'Overgeared' will officially launch at midnight on November 26.
Overgeared announced the game's official release date during its online showcase, Over World, on November 5. The game features key elements of the original work translated into an MMORPG format, including equipment-driven progression, distinct combat, and player cooperation and competition.
The game is a new title developed based on the web novel and webtoon IP 'Overgeared'. Overgeared follows the adventures of protagonist Shin Young-woo, who changes class to 'Pagma's Successor' in the virtual reality game Satisfy and grows stronger by collecting rare items. The web novel concluded in April 2024, while the webtoon is currently serialized on KakaoPage. An anime adaptation was released on the 2nd.
The original work recorded a combined 1.3 billion views across its web novel and webtoon on KakaoPage, and reached No. 1 in popularity on the Asian web novel platform Wuxiaworld. In Japan, it achieved 85.28 million cumulative likes on Piccoma and won the Piccoma Award 2023.
Overgeared is developed by Gray Games and published by Nexon. It is scheduled to be serviced as a PC and mobile cross-platform title in South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macao. The game captures the core fun of the original work through features such as an equipment progression system, combat utilizing God Hands, large-scale cooperative content, and a Dimension system that combines inter-server interaction and competition.
